Rapinoe has some of the best crosses I've ever seen from men and women. Always on the money and without her, they wouldn't get as many opportunities as they do.

Not shown in this vid is the moment when Nilla Fischer (#5 of Sweden) hauls Press down from the back, which could have easily been a penalty the referee overlooked. What you see on 0:27 is Press’ reply to Nilla a few minutes later.

All of you guys talk about the others but it is true that the USA wouldn't have won the World Cup if it wasn't for that one save Klingenberg made. She did her job to the fullest. If she wasn't there the USA would've lost against Sweden 1-0. I also think it was good for jill to put up both Press And Leroux.

During the first half she had a lot of pressing on her. Yet, she switched the game three times to theright with long, across the field, left-footed aerial passes to Ali who had plenty of space in front of her. On the defense, she clears after Kling’s heads the ball to the crossbar on 1:33.

Great defending game by both teams, specially Sweden and Jakobsson & Rapinoe were at their best, 0-0 but it was nice to watch. US team has a better collective but they don't have Pia Sundhage anymore, sorry !
For Next game, the USWNT has to watch out for injuries. The Nigerians have a knack for dirty fouls. During the USWNT 7-1 victory in the 1999 World Cup, Nigeria outfouled the USA 29 - 3. Still, the same Swiss referee was the one chosen for the final v China back then.

I checked the numbers at FIFA website and the Nigerians have received fewer yellow cards than most other teams during the WWCs of 2003, 2007, and 2011, even if they played fewer games (usually 3) as they have not advanced to the quarter finals.
It was Equatorial Guinea in 2011 that got 6 yellow cards in 3 games during the last WWC in Germany 2011.
The top rogue performer was Canada in the 2003 WWC with 11 yellow cards in 6 games.
Jorge Ponce What does that have to do with USWNT watching out for injuries or Nigerians having a knack for Dirty Fouls. Its 2015 they have one of the youngest teams, they are not the same team they were 4 years ago. Sweden and Australia both had no dirty fouls committed on them, both said they were a fast, physical team Nothing regarding them as dirty players.

With all due respect for Pia, Sweden has been boring offensive-wise.
Other than overcrowding in front of the goalkeeper, they have only brought the Swedish cultural tradition of queuing (and jumping to the front of the line), this time in the penalty area during corner kicks.
(I was expecting Pinoe to hand them tickets to keep the line in order).

Sweden has to face Germany which will be a great match. Germany hasn't had any "real" opponents in their group. I hope Sweden wins so they get #1 out of the US's way!
