Hey Guys, DVF Automotive for another video, today i took another car from my work and this is a Renault Scénic with the 1.9 TurboDiesel engine with 120bhp, in this video i do the first test drive to see if the car runs good and if everything works properly.
This car is very nice, compact outside but spacious inside, a perfect everyday MPV.

I owned the same model Grand Scenic 2.0 (Phase 1). I liked it because it was a very comfortable car, but due to the air conditioner failure, I scrapped it after 15 years of driving in April of this year...I feel nostalgic for the interior. great video. Greetings from Japan.

The gear lever shift action is so satisfying
I was wondering about this actually. Is the position even more comfortable than the one in the average car? Is it what makes it satisfying?
@@manueltena322 I think it’s more beautiful because it’s in the dashboard and not on the floor, and it’s more comfortable because of that (imo)
Its really good car, the steering is very easy, the shifting is very smooth. The only problem i had was the clutch, it took me a lot of time to master it cuz its very short and its tricky.

you dont need to relase parking brake it releses automatic when you press pedal

J'ai aussi un scenic 2 1.9Dci il a 300 000km aucun problème c'est l'entretien :)

You don't need to disengage the handbrake before you move off... It's automatic... When u move the clutch it comes off automatically..lol

It only comes off when you give some gas and move the clutch at the same time. In case it stalls. I know it because my dad drives a 2008 1.6 16v Scenic

I own a Scenic II from the same year, but in a not so good state. I'm currently fixing it with my dad (We put in a new dash yesterday because the old one didn't work)
Haha, same happend to our Scenic II few years ago when my father used to hit the dashboard as hard as he can, because it was only working when he was hitting it.

Are you aware that car had keyless entry? So you didn't need to start it with key or unlock with key there was a button on the door.

Nathan Reid Nope. I had a 2007 Grand Scenic (just the longer version of this with a facelift) which was really comfy and soaked up bumps very well.
How can I see my RPM status? Should I switch the gears by the motor's sound only??
really , you need rpm to change gears ? really ?
@@blobgamer2730 I will open the secret for you. If you open the windows and hear your engine, your gear shifting will much better then you would drive within fully sound isolated cabin. So yes, when there is not enough engine sound and the music is louder then this minimal sound of rpm's source, you are probably need any assistant like the chronograph.

@@GeoffreyArrius Yep indeed. My dad’s Scenic’s rpm goes to 6k, it’s a 1.6 16v. It’s indeed between the Petrol/Diesel level and speed

George Merokis it can be a good car because it is spacious and confortable and relatively cheap but for the reliability becarreful with electronics problems try to buy one after the year 2006 it is more reliable that’s it.
I used to have a 2007 Grand Scenic 1.9 diesel from new. Only problem it had was electronic handbrake failing once in the 10 years I owned it. It’s a really good car :)
1.5dci way better fuel econmy, 1.9 is faster

It’s only bad wiper blades. They’re cheap and quick to replace.

You option is install BT adaptor, for example Yatour or over. It will connect and operate instead CD changer.

@@alejandromellamellaandrade1324 yo tengo la grand scenic dos, motor 2.0 150cv dci, a parte de ser comodisima, el rendimiento del motor es muy bueno y son motores duros con cadena y no correa. Yo estoy encantado

I feel like 100km/h is really the max, at least for my 1.6 Petrol version. Anything above that the car feels like it's about to fall off.

Moteur très fiable si vidange fais tous les 15000km une bêtise immense d’ingénieur de préconiser à l’époque tous les 30000km ce qui causa les cousines de bielle et le turbo à cause d’une d’huile qui perdait ça viscosité le 1.9 dci est aussi un moteur qui déteste les sous régime

Thomas moteur très fiable je dirais 2.0 hdi 90/110

I have nothing bad to say about this car, except interior design. In my humble opinion it's disgustingly ugly. Almost puke-inducing ugly :)
Otherwise all ok, I had driven them in my company when had to go to business trips.
