This classic eau de toilette was created by Jean Martel in 1973 for the Spanish-born Parisian fashion designer. It was iconic concoction that prompted a craze for other aromatic fougères, which defined the decade.
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme’s complex character blends elegance with hygiene through a refined mix of aromas.
Its structure comprises of a rosemary, clary sage and Brazilian rosewood head. The exemplary fougère heart soon edges towards notes of Tonka bean, lavender and geranium.
Finally, the wearer is welcomed to a warm base that reveals harmonious accord of oak moss, musk and honey.
The intuitive life-cycle is composed of dry and sweet notes with an added freshness. It’s a high-performance so-called “power frag” that endures throughout the day.
Furthermore, it’s a distinctively seasonal fragrance that evokes a springtime morning. The aromatic and fougère notes are reminiscent of an earthy forest still damp from morning dew. The contrast of cool and warm create dryness akin to newly mown hay.
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is unashamedly old-school yet a timeless classic scent that can be worn across several generations. You can expect a refined but all the while masculine statement, which receives compliments and praise.

Paco Rabanne Pour Homme Fragrance: A Classic Fragrance Reviewed by Bespoke Unit: • Paco Rabanne Pour Homm...
This is the best fragrance ever created by your grandpas and my opinion, and I am 35 years old.
I think that this fragrance is miles above Dunhill Icon. Why? Because Dunhill Icon is a modern sweetly and peppery scent which in my opinion isn't manly and doesn't have pleasant, or masculine notes. In Dunhill Icon you can tell that it is a synthetic smell and in my opinion it is overpriced by 50%.
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme has it all. Real man manliness, feeling of an elegant old school alpha male, very pleasant dry down notes, good projection and longetivity.
If I could own only one fragrance for the rest of my life it would be Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, and even after 35 years of wearing it I would be happy and proud of it.
Say hi to grandpa. he is a real gentleman.
I purchased the reformulated version a month ago and I loved it because in my opinion it's very different in comparison to what's currently trending. I've been collecting fragrances since 2016, so my nose has matured. I just received a vintage (80's formulation) version of PRPH a few days ago and it really enhances the experience of having a proper fougere, but also having that understated uniqueness that separates you from the pack. This fragrance will always be in my collection. Thank you for the informative review.
I've been wearing Paco and Lagerfeld for years. Great fragrances!
Hey where did you got legerfeld. I want this perfume . Is it still manufactured?? Where I can get one,?
45 here, just purchased a 200ml bottle, another bottle to add to my paco rabanne collection, and I'm loving it.
I find it clean, fresh, and a sort of barbershop type smell, powdery, a slight hint of baby powder type of smell that quickly matures.
I’m totally in love with this fragrance.
Thank you for the review. I have to say that the idea to present it with your grandfather as well as the room and lightning you did the review are fantastic! Well done!
Thank you, Alexandros! I'm really glad that he was part of it. My only regret is that it didn't last longer. But I was so nervous as it was my first video!
I used it heavily in the early 90's and this Monday my new bottle will be here. Once again, it will be a great item in my collection. Nice review.
Thanks, David! Yes, it's always my in collection. Unbeatably classic scent!
Best,
CP

Does this cologne smell dated???
@@mercedesbenzs600bash if you like bubblegum smelling unisex millenial fragrances, then yes you will think it smells dated

Before the pandemic in 2020, i only knew perfumes related to my generation, such as Versace Eros, Pour Homme, JPG Ultramale, and such. When i started the actual fragrance journey, Paco Rabanne opened the door for me (Along Drakkar Noir) to the world of fougeres aromatiques. Such different scents from today's, such interesting notes, mosses, musks, pine, honey, herbs... I have never had the original perfume by Paco Rabanne but i hope i will get it soon, in a week or such. I had a couple of clones of it, and i recall so clearly as it had been yesterday as probably the nicest and most deeply loved memory from the pandemic, using this fragrance to walk out to a certain area of the city in September or October of 2020.
The greatest memory that comes to my mind is smelling it from my wrist on a work day, i was sitting in the bench of a garden here in the city, all alone. Sun was setting and the artificial lights were starting to light, in a yellowish color. The smell was so heavenly. Moss and musk, pine soap, a bit of honey lingering around there. And it wasn't even the original. With a few items i sell, i will get the original bottle, costs some 40 dollars here in Mexico. Without any doubts, one of my most beloved fragrances ever. Greetings, Charles Philippe.
One of my favourite fragrance reviews on you tube. Look forward to more from you. Cheers
Thanks for the positive feedback, Ben! More will be coming very soon!
Great video! I ordered one as I used this in high school in the 70s. I'm 59 now...
Sorry about the late reply. How does the new one compare when the one you wore in the 1970s?
@@Bespokeunit Definitely different! The old one was subtle compared to the new one. I think they just strengthened the new one. Two small squirts at back of both ears, then both pulse points on both wrist a quick one squirt on chest and back of neck does the the trick!
@@jazzguitarneophyte-christo7988 That's a shame that it's changed but it's great to hear that you like the new one. I suggest that you also try the aftershave. From what I know, it's much closer to the original.
Best,
CP
This is my signature scent. I adore this stuff. Its plain beautiful. Thanks for the review. 👍

Your welcome. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is undeniably the absolute balls 💈🧼💪😎
Exemplary review of a classic Fragrance, many thanks. I have just purchased a 100ml bottle, to remind me of my youthful days.
I often wear it to remember my grandfather!
Best,
CP
i USED THIS AS A KID MY FATHER USED IT AND SO DID I AND ITS SMELLS DIFFERENT THAT WHAT I DID IN 1970s and 1980
IT HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY REFORMULATED. HAVE YOU TRIED THE AFTERSHAVE? IT SMELLS MORE LIKE IT USED TO.
Hello there,
I love this video with your grandfather! I have tried this in a store and every time I watch this it makes we want to go out and buy a bottle. How is your grandfather these days?
one of my all time favourite.
Same here even after all these years!
Best,

Had to come back and watch the video again or year later it’s spring time and I’m going to wear it this weekend absolutely love it I call it my weekend fragrance
Thanks, delighted that you're getting some good value from our video! Yes, it's the perfect season to start wearing it again!
just to say thank you for introduced me this fragrance as you explained this is a brilliant fragrance . thank you.
Thanks, Ashy. I really appreciate your kind words. It certainly motivates us to keep going!
I had it in past, I plan on ordering another bottle. Enjoyed your review of it with your Grandfather.
Very nice video. Enjoyed your grandfather being in it. I can tell he was feeling a little weird speaking to you in English. That laugh at the beginning.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I know CP quite enjoyed having his grandfather be a part of it, especially since it was his first fragrance video review on our channel.

I`ve seen nearly all of your reviews here related to fragrances. Today I see this review again and what a wonderful one! Thank you for all the information and enjoyment that you present. Hopefully we`ll get to see more new videos from you of such classics!
We've got a few classics on the way. For instance, we just finished one of Givenchy Gentleman!
@@Bespokeunit Lovely! Looking forward to see it
Absolutely fabulous share, thanks a mill
A very masculine fragance. Excellent review !
It really is, and a classic, too. Thanks!
True and the more I've worn it, the more I realize just how masculine this is. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is a sheer masterpiece.🏆
I really like your video and your grandfather’s superb taste for fragrance! Is there any other fragrance that he uses? Cheers!
Thanks, Mordechai! He's pretty loyal to PRPH. However, he has been known to use some 4711 when washing up!
Excellent! Keep up the good work Sir!
Signature fragrance of my grandfather
Definitely a classic!
How is the Reformulation compared to the vintage regarding performance and smell?
Ban Dar Hi Ban,
Honestly, I've known Pour Homme for over a decade and I haven't picked up many changes. If anything, it's a little heavier on the labdanum but otherwise it's very loyal to the original.
In any cases my grandfather hasn't complained so that's a good sign!
Best,
CP
If I wear this and I like the smell in this time period I wouldn't think it be dated cause I'd like what it has to offer so I wouldn't think it'd be dated.
3 things to know about Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. 1. This juice is the balls. 2.Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is the absolute balls. 3.Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is undeniably the absolute balls 💈🧼😎 class dismissed 😎
Fair feedback!
@@BespokeunitThanks Bespokeunit. I appreciate it💈
Great video thank you very much I just purchased a bottle and really do enjoy the smell but I really don’t know how to wear it can you tell me how many sprays I should spray and where to spray the them on my body so I don’t overwhelm people around me and myself also a new subscriber keep up the great work thank you
Thanks, BigMan! PRPH is undoubtedly a classic so I'm delighted to hear that you like it. I've always just gone for three sprays that I apply at the base of the throat and behind each ear. If I'm going out, I might squeeze in a fourth on the back of the neck. Otherwise, I use some restraint with office wear and just do behind each ear.
Best,
CP
Thank you very much for the tip I am going to break it out this weekend and enjoy the creamy dry down I really like it

Hi there. I ordered Ralph Lauren Polo green. You have been told me the current version is not bad at all.
I ordered and Azzaro pour homme 1978.
I am expecting delivery this month.
I would like to order and Paco but I am not sure is it much sweeter than kouros, Givenchy Gentleman 1974 and Zino Davidoff.
Can you compare it with these ones in the point of sweetness.
Thank you Mister
Hi Zoran,
I can certainly confirm that Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is quite sweet and much sweeter than Givenchy Gentleman. However, I'm not sure whether it is sweeter than Kouros and Zino Davidoff. Sorry!
All the best,
CP
Hi there. My impressions from Polo green was great. Green, ashes and animalic. There is nothing sweet in Polo. Much better than Antaeus, Kouros and Givenchy. I have them all. After all these fragrances what can I expect from Paco rabanne pour homme???
I was ready to order it last winter but...you have been told me that it's much sweeter than Givenchy gentleman 1974. It confused me totally. Any advice now...? Thanks Mister.
Kouros is 100% sweeter than PR PH. Kouros utilizes savory sweet cloying jasmine, honey, and a salty sweet animalic civet giving an almost buttery desert feel. Kouros heavy with civet also gives that vibe of your own ass in the summer where you itch your crack and smell your fingers (Am I wrong though?) Although PR PH has tonka and honey giving it a vanilla note, it is nowhere near as buttery and cloying. PR PH is sharper and much earthier. Its closer to Polo to me than Kouros.
Excellent review!
Thanks, Daniel!
Best,
CP
How many sprays of Paco Rabanne without coming off overpowering , like say in an office setting?
I'd say no more than three (and even then that's a fair bit). One or two should be enough for the office.
thank you for your reviews i have three bottle s of it.
Glad you like them!
Rafael
Has the Fragrance in this review been reformulated?
I'm sure that it has been numerous times in its 40+ years of production. In fact, I think it has been reformulated in the last 5 or so years. However, it's still quite close to the original. It's just slightly sweeter with more honey and labdanum than before.
Best,
CP
The other bottle on the table during the interview, is the Paco Rabanne Pour Homme Eau? Why did not you talk about it?
Hi Ivan,
That was actually my grandfather's bottle, but I do have one now too. If I'm not mistaken, it's the aftershave rather than the EDT. Looking back, I should have talked more about it as it's actually somewhat different.
The aftershave has an unsurprisingly cleaner scent, which relies less on the muskiness and leans more towards the aromatics. Its projection is excellent and offers a surprisingly long-lasting scent.
Best,
CP
Very nice barber shop scent..but for performance
I like tom ford's private blend
Very different price point!
En que tenporada recomienda este perfume usar
Hi Sergio! We talk about the seasonality around 2:52! Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is an excellent spring/summer fragrance. That said, Charles-Philippe wears it all year!
Sergio Esparza todo el año, es un clasico de las fragancias de "Barbero" muy pronto en mi canal.
Has anyone mentioned you look like Henry Cavill the new Superman, anyways great review
That's a first but I love it!
I like it
didnt like this one too much, i think urinal cakes and my heavy usage of oils for clearing nasal passages ruined this one for me. Dont want to smell like either of those associations, LOVE the bottle tho!
Oh wow, that's a pretty scathing testimonial!
@@Bespokeunit XD yeah i agree, i think it's the sage note i dont like. i'm usually pretty picky when it comes to fragrances, i dont like the mainstream generic unninspired ozonic amBROxan freshies and i dont like overly sweet popsicles for the average teenage customer seeking something to impress a girl in a club. I found my taste in old school stuff but some things were better in simpler times, today we have so many diffrent scented soaps, body washes, lotions, car refreshners, diffuser oils, air refreshners, detergents, cleaning products that some perfumes dont give a out a vibe that i want. If i really want class and perfume Guerlain and Chanel exclusif is hard to beat. If i want fresh i would go Mugler cologne, if i want fresh but diffrent i would go Caron, Creed, Diptyque and so on. But still there is someting that attracts me to more harsh almost offensive old school ones, fougeres and barbershop scents, i want good chypres and i'm looking for a great old school leather scent. pcph was just too herbacious for me :)
@@CroElectroStile Awesome! A nice and varied palate. You commented on our Aramis vidéo, have you tried 1934 Dunhill For Men?
nice !

Thanks!
Thank u sir great review granpa knows whats up
He's a man of exceptional taste!
Is this the aftershave, cologne, or eau de toilette?
Hi Andy,
I mostly reviewed the eau de toilette but you can also see occasional shots of the aftershave too as both my grandfather and I own it too. They're very similar - sometimes I feel that the aftershave produces a fuller opening that lasts longer but doesn't transition like the eau de toilette. As for the eau de toilette, it has a greater accent on the base notes with a sweeter heart.
Best,
CP
