As a preteen in Houston I remember the city was going crazy, especially before & after Game 6 against the Lakers. I honestly believe until this day that if Tracy didn't not choose to have surgery on his knee midseason, we would have not only beat the Lakers, we would have beat the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals and it would've been the exact same repeat of the 1995 NBA Finals with the Rockets playing the Magic. And just how Hakeem crushed Shaq, Yao would've crushed Dwight. Ron would've locked up Hedo, Tracy would dominate Rashard, Scola & Landry would keep Gortat's hands full, and Brooks & Lowry would've gave Jameer Nelson problems. But I guess things happen for a reason.😕
As a Lakers fan, I can tell you that we couldn't handle Yao Ming. Gasol, Bynum, and Odom combined couldn't stop him from scoring. The last few games would have been different had he not been injured.
