Funny I have the same motor and just bought the exact carb on Amazon to fix my problem. My issue was the needle valve was not sealing for the float bowl and was flooding the carb when starting/running. I tried cleaning the jets and valve to no avail.
Tip for you - to shut down motor, just hold in the red button in, you don’t have to pull the kill switch. Good luck!

I did the same, after pulling it of and on, cleaning it, I gave up and ordered one. My red button is hard to push in. I have gotten use to pulling the key.

Any Chinese carb I’ve used ended up causing more issues in the long run. Better off just cleaning & rebuilding the original carb with quality parts. Remember we’re on the water without much around for parts when we need them.
