  • It has been 6 weeks since I have shared the allotment garden with you, so much has changed and I have so much to show you so today we are going for an allotment tour!
As we work our way through the plot I find more things buried under the soil which has put a pin in my brassica plans, I share some of my fails with the three sisters method but also some massive wins with other things growing and a little insight into my thoughts on no-dig!!
A special thanks to my first channel members Joe's Patch and Nessie Also!
    I hope you enjoy!
    All the best,
    Laura 💖

It must be so frustrating having to use your time to deal with someone else's mess! Always the case with allotments, digging up rubbish and rubble someone else buried there. That shredded plastic looks like a nightmare. Good luck!

I have to admit that I had to watch the video twice. First time was just to see all the news and the second time was to enjoy the video. Good job and thank you. G

I truly hope you are so proud, you have achieved a lot in this space in such a short amount of time . With radish pods, pick them when they're tender, you can just add them to salads. If you have a bunch, they make a great pickle or ferment. I make gallons of half sour fermented pickles (mainly cucumbers, Im in South Texas) and I add my radish pods and garlic scapes to the brine. Also, I started making "radish chips" from the leaves, in a low slow oven, barely rubbed with s&p&chili and they're shockingly good with an ice cold beer or crisp white wine.

So good to see your progress Laura, the plot is looking fantastic 😊 Isn't it exciting when you start to harvest your hard work 😊 That cucumber looked amazing, mine are doing well but not as large as the one you harvested 😁 my sweet dumpling has flowers on it now, so excited to see fruits on it soon. Your new tap setup looks great. Water is such an important part of the garden. Looking forward to your next video Laura, have a wonderful weekend 😊 xx

Welcome back Laura. Your plot is looking great apart from the lumps of concrete and plastic. The potatoes seem to be at the digging stage unlikely to have blight.

Great to see you back Laura, plot is looking fab and the fennel is beautiful. Had the same potato scare on a bucket of Charlotte’s next to the greenhouse at the start of June and quickly harvested them and disposed of the tops pronto! I had just put my 16 tomato plants in the greenhouse and they appear to have got it too.🙁. I’m guessing a fungus and removing lower leaves as it appears and spraying hydrogen peroxide weekly…. The joys of living on the wet and wild SE Coast of England🤪

Great tour again, Laura. I love this time of the year! Your potatoes have Septoria Leaf Spot - often mistaken for blight but it is harmless. I've seen some channels lift their spuds early because of it!!

Wow looks like a completely different plot Laura, well done, your rewards are paying off now. You must be thrilled 😊 I direct sown some turnips last week & they're already germinating, I've got to thin them out next. Enjoyed watching as usual, have a lovely weekend xx
