  • John 18:28-40
This portion of the bible is possibly the last close, personal conversation that Jesus has with anybody before He’s crucified.
Pilate seems to be annoyed at having been placed in the middle of what he sees as a religious dispute between Jews. Jesus, on the other hand, uses this conversation to reveal who he really is to Pilate.
Its here that, Pilate asks a question out of contempt. “What is truth?” This was a rhetorical question. Pilate wasn’t expecting an answer, it was a comment he made as he turned and walked away, He was basically saying to Jesus,
Don’t talk to me about truth for truth cannot really be known!” “What’s true for you may not be true for me!
So, Pilate walked away from this awesome opportunity to come to know the truth for himself.
He looked truth in the face, refused to see it and walked away, lost in his sins!
Tonight I want to use Pilate’s rhetorical question, cause it’s a question that many are still struggling with, and see if we can find the answer and I believe the Bible gives us enough information about truth that we can find an answer this question.
