He tells it like it is. Sometimes, for some people, it is hard to hear his words. He speaks the truth, nevertheless.

You are so right. And his words penetrated my soul because he describes so many ways in which I have been - and still am - so selfish. I really want to be less selfish, and I realize that sometimes it’s such a “natural” reaction in me to be selfish, that bringing the behavior to full consciousness requires constant effort that - because of my “nature” - I just don’t arm to even realize I need. Maybe it would be more helpful for my nature to focus less on trying to be selfish, and focus more on being selfless. I think I can bed better at seeing it that way. It appears more proactive than reactive. Yeah. I think I’ll try that. Be protectively and intentionally selfless - taking care to not run faster than I have strength. I tend to struggle finding that balance. Self-preservation is not self-ish. That balancing act requires much introspection, humility and honesty. How did the Savior role model all this?

I tend to run faster than I have strength, which one could say is a selfish behavior depending on what is the motivation for running faster than I have strength. Then I’m exhausted and no good to anyone ….. yeah. Great talk - great challenge - full of opportunity to serve others while learning temperance in all things ❤️
I’ll focus on being more self-less and more neighbor-ish. ❤️

Just had a friend ask me why the church says the natural man is an enemy to God. I sent him this talk and deciding to remind myself. What an incredibly enlightening talk.

In this video is a man speaking by the power of God. This is what it means to be led by prophets, for when he speaks the Holy Ghost carries it to the heart of men, and the truth of his words are sealed on the hearts of those who will receive his words by the Holy Ghost. Thus those words are known to be true by those who will receive them by the power of the Holy Ghost, independently of any other man. They are delivered by the spirit of prophesy, for the spirit of prophesy is the testimony of Jesus, and those who will receive them by that same spirit are thus led by living prophets no differently than what is found in the scriptures. Indeed, as Moses said, would that every man in Israel were prophets.

reason the gospel to the virtue of reason of logic conversation but you cant have a logic conversation because you are so perfect ...only the devil will give you that concept of your character...it is better for a camel to enter in a nitle eye than a rich in the kingdonw of jeavens.... in the name of jesus amen.

Boy, do we ever miss essential messages like this in general conference! Imo, they've become much too soft and "flowery". It's been a long time since. Maybe since about 2008? How come? In our day, we need messages like Elder Maxwell's more than ever!
Imo, we shouldn't have to go back 15+ years ago to find these.

Filia mia que mas que nada que sea celoso de el elvangelio de tengo arepentirme and the hordes of hired hands. Pero ya arepentimiento de ser selfish es algo que no se puede dejar. For me help me lord to submit willingly and to develop meekness . Nevertheless let me remember that I need to shed pride, selfishness..I need to put off this natural man and discover the family lord which you would have me have. Let go of the gospel of sex. Repent. Help me lord to overcome. Well then I must begin fasting and praying regulael
