The truck, along with a nice mid range truck camper is going to be ideal. Tens of thousands less than a Mercedes 4x4 van conversions like those completed by Thor or Winnebago. The 2.0 kw system is more than enough power for the truck camper. And if I want to run the A/C I can make sure the A/C is a lower output. You don’t need much of an AC unit to keep the camper cool.

Hi Andre! Thank you for the informative review of the 2023 GM-designed Superduty, LOL. I'm happy to hear that FORD includes the XL OFF ROAD PKG that I had all spec'd out on my 2020 F-350 6.7L STX SCLB (11,500lb GVWR) truck that I sold to a FORD dealer in December 2021. I have had my 2022 F-350 6.7L Lariat SCLB (11,400lb GVWR) Antimatter Blue, for more than a year and I'll be installing a 5,500 Watt pure sine wave inverter to power my 31' RV when boondocking. A 2,000 Watt system just ain't gonna cut it for me running AC. I'm so glad that I won't have to handle flammable fuel anymore nor deal with a finicky 5,500 Watt gas generator. Not to mention that I have to use an engine hoist to load it into the truck bed, it vibrates when running and it is noisy as all get out. I'll also install my Airlift 7500XL bags and compressor this summer to level out my truck better than my Equalizer 14k hitch does. Keep up the excellent content!

This is a similar Ford config that I was looking at. Price is 65k + taxes, dealer fees, and etc you're talking 70k.........way too high for a 'work truck.' A chevy LT trim is cheaper and more equipped for the price...for +5-10k you get a loaded LT or LTZ. The fords look cheaply built on close inspection...wavey panels, unequal gaps, dangling wires, and etc...seems everything was quickly thrown together and flimsy. The interior design, ergonomics, and performance numbers are great and class leading though those are just a numbers game they're playing (for example, despite the Powerstroke has more HP/torque, the Duramax is faster to 60). The chevy trucks drive much nicer down a highway and are comparable to an SUV, but the Fords are very much truck-like (something I actually liked BTW)...the wind noise is almost unbearable at 75 MPH and even the upgraded B+O sound system isn't great. The GM truck is luxury car quiet inside...in comparison I had to ask the dealer if there was something wrong with Ford powerstroke because so much clicking, tricking, and rattling was coming from the AC vent...we tried another one and it sounded the same. The body flexes and doors (or cabin) creak as you're going on uneven ground. The nail in the coffin for ford super duty (for me) is that their 10 speed transmission has a known issue with a bearing sliding (still not fixed or acknowledged by Ford...), causing internal leaks and rough shifting (then eventual failure) and diesel bosch CP4 fuel pump that is known to grenade sending metal shrapnel into the engine (pending class action lawsuit and Ford has known about it for years, yet still puts those pumps into their new trucks)...and the 7.3 godzilla engine has known metal flaking on the lifters (supposedly triggered by heavy towing or lots of idling) with the 6.8 being the same design (and BTW, only offered on lowest XL trim)... GM heavy duties aren't perfect by any means, but they don't have these major problems. Oh and even if you want a super duty, there are basically zero in stock at dealers and they say 6-8 months on orders (no discounts if case you're wondering). I guess they don't tell you guys all these things on those press events. Last, IMO the new redesign is ugly...the prior generation looked much better and it's especially apparent when you look at them side by side at a dealer...up close that front end is awful even with the upgraded headlights.

Also, I cant understand qhy no American pickup brands have the adjustable headlights where you can turn a dial to dip them when you're towing or hauling heavy. Tundras have had this since 2007 and the Nissa Titans have this as qell. Its a great feature. On every Ford Super Duty truck I've had to re- aim the headlights so people would stop flashing me.
