People are learning when to upblock the overhead attack. And some characters (if you go into stance and go behind them)can hit you with a regular attack (d1 sometimes d2) and punish you for that. But the best way to counter the teleport behind is to dash forward. I use Omni man and just go into stance and make the teleport behind and either throw or “sweep” my mix up and people are attacking the instant I’m behind them or they dash forward and I wiff the sweep or im just out of reach. In a casual game the overhead can work but in an competitive match it’s tough because the recovery to go back into an up block is pretty fast.
Omni man definitely needs more mix up options(faster start-up on low string or forward 2) or more moves that are safe on block if he is going to be tournament viable
@@ricardolagares8907nope 😂 he has a mid screen overhead the string that ends in overhead he has a ground stomp that hits twice he can teleport and as shown in this video he has a safe on block 42% meterless and no kameo combo 😂😂😂 more mix ups. So you want smoke and omniman mixed 😂
@@HashiramaSellsI understand all of that sounds very strong to you as a low rank player, but for the rest of us who know how the game plays at a high level omni man really is not strong. I can imagine pros bullying him quite easily with most of the roster.

@@HashiramaSells Woahh god rank!?!! Is that what you expect me to say? Anyone with thumbs can rank up in mk unless you’re losing 5x more than you’re winning. I was grandmaster before I even went into practice for the second time and didn’t know the moves of 90% of the roster. I’m still not hearing a valid reason for why omni man is good enough to compete at a tournament level. And no, I don’t use top tier characters. The highest tier characters I play are smoke or maybe reiko.
Tbh omni is pretty balanced considering how hard it is to open people up and keep your turn even with lao hat or something alike. Characters like johnny, baraka, mileena, and ashrah can steal omni mans turns like its a bucket of candy left out on Halloween.
he has great mid, few overheads and low....
it is super easy to open up, you want cmd grab or what?
If you're fighting in neutral, play him like a whiff character. 12 into back dash and cancel into B11 or F3. That or use stryker
@@omgoatneither of his overheads combo, unless it's the ground slam, which only combos if you hit behind the person. Both overheads are also very slow. So Omni Man is a bit more difficult than most to open up with. However, omni man doesn't have a problem keeping pressure, cause he has so many safe mids, so his lack of good mixups isn't really a problem
Didn’t know about the up block penalty, might’ve not read or noticed it during the training challenges but that’s really cool. Kinda wish there were more special benefits for stuff like that on punish or even counter.
I haven't been able to play online with or against him yet, but I can't wait to. It'll be so fun. I like up close fighters, so Omni Man is the exact type of person I'll enjoy going against.

I’ve played 7 Omni mans today and they all did jax or kung Lao in to flying push into a combo.OR THEY JUST FLOAT AND SPAM THE SAMEMoves

I think it makes sense for Omni-man to have big dmg, having the most dmging combo routes be slightly tricky helps make it balance and rewarding. Kenshi get big dmg if you can get the hang of sento, and Omni get same if you can get the timing down. I like the idea of tricky combos causing big dmg. Hope it doesn't get the nerf hammer. If they want to nerf anything, it could be the over just being punishable on block or maybe prevent the cross up.
You can spam his forward body push using mix up of his ground move and overhead punch. It does crazy mix ups if you have the ability to check people's down pokes
Cool tech! One thing though, the overhead teleport out if his is actually completely reactable to up block. Like with a little practice you can even not fall for doing it on him going for the regular teleport so he wont even get the opportunity to bait you for a grab.
Aside from that, the video is solid and the combo is dope 👍
I’ve been pretty consistent at reacting to the teleport stomp with an up block and full punish. But the teleport to grab mix up gets me all the time in wifi. I’d be okay w this character once they buff my boy sub zero 😢

Im a Sub Zero main.....always have been....always will be. I was playing against Omni Man for the first time last night and noticed that Frost's "Ice Orb" totally busted Omni Man's Fatal Blow. He caught me but when he started to dash back and forth to start the FB, he got frozen. Surprised me but gave me the win! 🤘 10:15

I disagree with the sentiment as with most fighting games the progression of the game isn’t what keeps me going but the competitive nature and the want to improve over my past performance.

His teleport can actually be upblocked quite easily when you See the Animation
Another option is to not finish the 12Grab air string. Then, when you land, throw down Low Hat and delay it to create a hard to block situation with 22. From there, you either get a full combo if it hits or a little bit of chip if it's blocked
He does a pretty obvious animation before each option out of stance
Another thing about throw vs up block is you cannot break throws while up blocking.

Before everyone gets upset and declares how he needs a nerf. Keep in mind he has no true 50/50 or openers, most of his special moves and strings are punishable, and you can still grab his b11 and his teleport over head from stance can be upblocked for a full punish. It’s such a joke

@@omgoatno he’s actually right. Omni-man has no true 50/50’s, on his own anyway. His low starter is punishable. With certain kameos however, he suddenly does have true 50/50’s. Like for example, I use Goro, because he enables me to make those starters safe every time!

Personally I do wish that exploit gets patched however, make the Superman charge eligible for meter burning to get the ground bounce regardless where the opponent is. Make it cost 2 bars and give us something fun to play with. The same thing goes for with the overhead drop, meter burn the stance and make the overhead drop bounce the opponent higher for a follow up.
That string is very blockable and is normally used off whiff so I don’t think this is truly viable especially since you can’t confirm into it yk

This new tech makes omni-man’s combos look WAY less lame. Like, his air combos are cool and all, but literally everyone does it. Gets repetitive pretty quickly, so its nice to see that he has a new trick up his sleeve to spice things up

The thing I'm finding annoying is that the whif 1 hit 2 is sometimes just not coming out. Like it's on my input history that I hit 2, it just doesn't happen.
I been up blocking that Omni-man overhead online consistently, I'm dat good
I always get them with the up block. The timing is not hard to get use to and when you do you can counter with an uppercut

Omni-man is brutal af, but I’m waiting to try tremor so bad. He’s gonna be good with how I play Baraka. I know he got damage nerfs, but you still rain combos and specials, so I’m just waiting to kameo tremor with him to really capitalize on have way more attack, support and ambush capabilities on top of all my already high pressure.

@@jadenchavez461 I haven't even played MK 1 yet it just doesn't look as good as MK 11 when it first came out and I wish kameos would be optional so you could do 1v1 and I miss krushing blows and the Fatal Blows were better in my opinion.

Good character once mastered! For the casual player he’s probably difficult to use and learn. Casual players don’t want to play with technique. They want to smash and spam and move on. Omni man is the blue print for injustice 3!

As a Reiko main, a good omni man player more times then not will body me lol i just picked up Sub Zero & its even worse lol still alot of fun though win or lose.. im not the type to get salty i just love playing online with other players even if im on a losing streak..

As soon as you see him teleport up you have enough time to react to up block in my opinion but yeah shouldn't just hold it because he is in stance

I hope they dont change him in that regard. That autotracking move is very hard to do mid combo. If people can pull it off then good for them. Its an unintentional skill gap but a skill gap nonetheless and its still nowhere near as OP as sento 😂

No offense but if you play him right, there's not punishing him. If you're a "main" you should definitely work on your skill bud
They will nerf Omni man at some point. NS nerfed the other top 5 they will nerf Omni once the hype dies down. It’s like you said, NS has a history of making their DLC OP upon release so people are enticed to buy them. Once Everyone has bought him and the hype dies down, they’ll nerf him, and since everyone has already bought him. It’ll be too late to get your money back.

I have one honest question for you all. I am being tormented since I noticed that. I play Sindel usually, and her seccond fatality basically explodes the enemy. If you explode Mileena, her skull has her teeth. HOWEVER, if you explode General Shao you will se a normal skull, what the f* happens with his horns?

Don’t worry they’ll patch it out and then put another Band-Aid on their game to make broken characters seem OK. I think you’ve made a comment about this before about the 50-50 problem. They’ve got a handful of characters that are 50-50 monsters, safe on either choice and either choice leads to a full combo, basically you don’t have to be skilled at this game to win and Johnny cage is a good example. I actually love his character in this game, but I hate fighting him and even though I have labbed him, I refuse to play him or Melina or baraka, and like I said before there’s a handful of others on top of that. On the PS5 at least the community is so toxic between being de dost literal hate mail that I’ve had to report to PlayStation, and even death threats. the sad part is nether realm doesn’t understand that creating in promoting this in their gameplay actually hurts the game but hey, they got your money already so tough luck right I don’t know I’m a disabled vet and as much as I absolutely love the game and a lot of what they’ve done with it there’s still way too many problems both in the community and with the game for me to try to spend my retirement money on it anymore. If I have to choose between an AI that’s dumber than a sack of rocks and a community where a majority of people are there just to cheese talk shit, and basically spread toxicity amongst themselves I just rather not be involved. It is a pity though

@@Loki-Grandmaster Yep you can increase your FB damage as much as 5% by mashing buttons during it. The more you mash, the more damage you do and vice versa like the comment above says. I believe it's a mechanic brought over from Injustice

I hate to say it, but this combo is a lot harder than he leads on.
Do you know after his uppercut to a jumping opponent you can hold up/forward and block, he flys up in the air for a combo.
Yeah, it also doesn't work when it should. Like he said, it's basically a glitch. If you do back 11, into f4, then standing 3 into bf4, it should launch. But it won't.
