I just can't go for these weirdly shaped pens with the long grip section extending out of the much larger body. Popular ones like the Scribo Feel or Diplomat Aero not only look unbalanced to me but they wouldn't work with my high hold.

The grand scepters are incredibly hard to write with as the grip sections are super long and skinny before the huge step up to the barrel and one is forced to write from the barrel in order to get any comfortable grip at all.

I haven't found the sections any different to write with other than being slightly more girthy to accomodate a #6 nib. They are a little longer but not by much that it makes a huge difference on how it writes for me.

@@PenultimateDave that’s because you have man hands;) I find the grip section of the grand scepter intolerable and am forced to write from the barrel which is why this pen sits lonely in a pen case despite its obvious beauty. I bought it for the pleasure of the 6 nib but it’s just a terrible writing experience for me due to the sharp contrast between the grip section and barrel.

I thought the main difference was the scepters had a #5 nib and the grand scepters have #6 nib?
