But it wipes your conscious memory out so you don’t directly remember what transpired but it can cause PTSD type symptoms that the medical community doesn’t want to acknowledge.
It MIGHT prevent a patient from making new memories of painful/ traumatic procedures. It does not act that way in my case. Although it does affect my perception of elapsed time and sequence of events. One more observation: even if it was 100% effective in preventing every person from remembering an experience no matter how horrific it was, is that the end goal? For instance, let’s take an extreme example. If were unfortunate enough to find yourself in a situation where you were being tortured, but your torture were empathetic enough to give you a dosage of midazolam that would 100% block your memory, would you be happy undergoing torture for however, long it took just because you wouldn’t remember it afterwards?I think it’s a fairly accepted axiom that some part of the brain retains every experience.
I had a paradoxial reaction to versed. Remember everything, aggitated, had forethought, and had energy (stripped the stretcher to help the nurses out since I was bored) I wish it would've worked as intended
They give this liquid form at the eye institute where I will be having a cataract removal. I do have glaucoma so why are they giving this to me if contraindicated?
I was sedated with Versed and Fentanyl during my wisdom teeth removal, powerful stuff. I just remember my head tilting back after they got done injecting it into my IV and next thing I know I'm already in the car halfway home, I also really wanted a milkshake.
If you are running fent and versed because you only have one IV access, you have a lot more issues. Of course I use trissel's compatibility to make sure im good and generally like to run all sedation through one line. Also, I guess it depends on facility, but versed it commonly in the RSI kit.
i think versed is the reason why every time i get wheeled into surgery i'm talking everyone's ears off and/or flirting with a doctor
It's good stuff
Best feeling EVER
Heard some horror stories where people remained aware when sedated with this.

@@stbazI dunno. I have seizures and the short acting benzos do wipe memories more
I got it before the gas. Good stuff.
@@stbazIt didn't wipe my memory at all. I remember the entire catheterization, even the conversations the OR staff had word for word.

Midazolam harmed my child and paradoxical reactions was never explained despite questioning its safety. Ask questions especially at hospitals!
Got it for a heart stent, was talking to doctors, next thing I knew I was being wheeled out of the Cath lab and back to my room lol
Good information!

Alot of bad reviews of this medication.
This drug is also used in executing death row inmates and there's currently a scandal in the UK involving this drug and end of life care.
