Spoilers for those who haven't finished the video:
Yes, Aya does become like her father but not in the way you think, she targets those who are terminally ill and have no chance of surviving or living a happy life. She sedates them as a more "humane" way of killing them unlike her father. The reason why she probably ended up like this is because of all the trauma he put on her, and she dearly loves and cares for her father. Maybe it's a way to feel close to him.
Apparently the updated version includes a scene that points out she actually doesnt kill while the original version is more vague I guess to keep the players guessing how she really turned out.

You should play Misao sometimes. It's connected to Mad Father, but it takes place in the Modern Era

I'm glad you managed to collect all the gems! I was trying not to scream about the pendant in parts 1 and 2, ahah. I hope you'll get to play the IF and Blood parts too, as they shed more light into the lore--and if you're going to pick up more RPG horrror games, definitely pick up Misao, Ib, and especially the Witch's House!

You should definitely do blood mode and IF mode too! They’re exclusive to this new remaster of the game and give more lore insight to characters like the blonde boy and the mother, Monika. It also shows that Monika was not as innocent in all this as she seemed and neither was Aya.
I mean Aya did say she straight up ignored most of it because she loved her father and wanted to keep on living as if nothing had happened...

Regarding the story itself: I do feel like Aya becoming like her father was a bit...out of character for her? She literally seemed horrified by everything he did and so caring the entire game, so for her to also become evil like her dad felt a little out of left field.
I also didn't expect Ogre (part of me wants to say he's some sort of fae if he's not a demon) to help the dad either. Perhaps the devs could've added in a little more foreshadowing so that Aya and Ogre's endings could've made more sense.
She was horrified to deal with his victims and at the thought of herself being a doll, but she knew what he was doing and did nothing to stop him, same as the mother. Even after seeing what he did and talking to his victims, she still supported and loved him, so her carrying on his life's work as a show of support for him is not out of character for her at all.
Just at glancing around apparently the remaster covers that in other modes, basically explaining Aya had the same tendencies of her father, so maybe her kindness in the main game is her warped perception of herself or she was only ever horrified cause she was the one in danger/needed something from those she helped.
Aya was a little crazy from the start. throughout the game (unless I missed it somewhere) she had no problem killing live dolls. she did not feel disgust when cutting the dog and disgusted to take the key from the toilet. I also think that normal parents do not read to their children that the girl got the power and killed everyone (the beginning of the game before she burned the dolls). I think she might have had problems with empathy as well. supposedly she loved her parents, but she felt no remorse when she killed dolls. in addition, she acted a bit as if she did not care that her father was killing people because it did not concern her and she only started to be afraid when he wanted to kill her. in addition, he must have heard screams from the basement 100%, because she heard her father scream and the children screamed and it was visible during the flashback of the ghost from the library. in addition, what kind of child is so skilled at using a chainsaw XD.

I don't think Mike picked it up in the previous episodes, but there was a book about the father's research (forgot the title. It was sth sth anatomy sth).
Between Aya's implied questionable tendencies (Iirc you can find dead animals in her dressers) and her recovering the book at the end of the game (I don't remember how it got out of the mansion, but I'm quite sure someone intentionally left it there for her to find), she winds up taking an interest at her father's work and...yeah. BLOOD does expand on this, so there's that at the very least.
Well, the interpretations that I've heard and understand is that when she meets someone she cannot help she euthanizes them. I'm no theorist, but I think this one makes most sense.
You might also enjoy two horror games similar to this, Ib and The Witch's House. Both are well done and full of creepy fun things.
I love the chase scene with the Mad Father! And the way he says "Aya~!" was truly terrifying as well. On that note, I absolutely adore the fact that Aya herself turned into a mad doctor, and Maria... well, looks like she really did follow Aya down her path of madness. There are two things I want to know, though. First, I'd like to know what would happen if the player chose to obey Aya's Mother's wishes. Second... I kinda want to see a glimpse of a what-could-be should Aya and her Father reunited after all the years.
To answer the first question when you choose to go on Monika’s wish, it gives you an ending where Maria turns Aya into a doll herself, as Alfred isn’t there to do his work.
To the second, if you play blood mode (spoilers) , you will see that she doesn’t run from her father anymore and just stays with him.

From what I can remember someone explaining the endings behind the game.
In this ending it’s somewhat a good ending because she doesn’t torture the patients like her father did, if not put them to rest in a peaceful way.
As for the dolls,she makes “wooden” ones to remember them and puts pieces of clothing of her patients to remember them by.
But still it’s pretty F up she followed in her fathers’s foot steps

@@lovemoonforever6068 This is my first ever seeing this game (never herd of it before), so I had no idea what to expect. Its impossible to be familiar with all the games in the world. But, I did have a feeling it had several endings...with the subject matter and anime style it's never an easy "open and shut case"

This playthrough was amazing. The suspense had me on-edge in all the episodes and the rising tension was simply sublime. I'll keep saying this - Mike will go down in history as a horror *prodigy* .

I was more thinking like a peaceful murderer? She does not take their lives away mercilessly, but simply put them out of their misery with kindness.

Hey SHB, have you ever heard of a game called ib? It’s similar to Mad Father with 2D graphics and top-down perspective along with different endings. You play as a little girl whose lost in a haunted art museum and you join these characters while trying to find a way out. It’s really good!!

Unlike the father, she's using painless methods to turn people into dolls. The father just tortured his victims to death and watched them suffer while Aya on the other hand is kind and caring in her ways of doing it, still wrong by all accounts.
Great job at finishing the game, I recommend you to also play IF mode, it expands the storyline more about the blond boy and Aya's mother, it'd be great to see you play
This remake is such a great refresher and they really polished it up. I remember that finale being a LOT harder as there weren't quick time events back then. It becomes pretty frustrating over and over lol

the bad ending is Aya turned into a doll (you will get bad ending if you choose not to treat Maria, and run away to final location.
the good ending but didn't collect all the gem is Aya and Maria escaped but there will be no further explanation about where their about if I'm not wrong (so there won't be scene what happen to father, and scene about adult aya)
The true one is the one you get because you get all of the gems.

I really hope you do the Blood and If modes. The blood mode is somewhat similar, yet entirely new at the same time, and the If mode really gives you a good look into more of the plot from different perspectives. Though, I'd understand if you didn't want to.
Nice! Congrats on clearing the main game! I saw that there's more to the story and since I haven't played those before, I'm excited to see you play them, too. That was the true ending and there are two more, I think.
Please play Misao, too. I think the connections between the two (especially on the newer version) is clear but it'd still be cool to know your thoughts on them. I don't think the light novels for those are translated but I'm not sure if they have extra content in them that's not in the games already for more lore stuff so I guess that's fine.

Aya just wanted her father back. And then she ran away, only to become the very thing she feared.
You know a story has done a good job of building up sympathetic characters when you want the serial murderer redeemed for the sake of the protagonist. Or saving the murder house! Seriously, dozens of people killed there and he’s all “Just burn the lab. She has happy memories in the house.” Even though so many innocent people were killed there. You think their families would want the house to stand for the benefit of the madman’s family. Such a good story, making misplaced sympathy seem so natural.

This reminds me: have you done any playthroughs or examinations of the Corpse Party games, starting from Blood Covered (the more well-known remake of the somewhat obscure Japanese-exclusive OG from the 90’s)? If not, they’re chock full of side stories and creepy/scary moments and unique Bad Endings, plus a multitude of playable characters. I’d recommend them to any horror fan.

Okay the ending to mad father. I got into the original game 4 months before the Remaster came out and about the ending I didn't know about what happened to Jean until I see here what's going on. I haven't checked out blood mode yet almost 2 years later because I've been busy with online school then school kicked in but now that it's summer, I'm revisiting an old game that I enjoyed watching for 3 hours.

I believe there's a bonus blood mode that unlocks once you finish the main story! Also, this story does have different endings depending on if you save the father or not. I believe you could make a good story told/secrets found if you played 100%, as there's more to uncover
