this is genuinely the best “teen romance” movie of all time. its fun, was casted perfectly, and the relationships feel genuine (not even just the romantic relationships but the friendships too).
I wouldn't call this simping. Cameron called Bianca out on her bs, and vice versa throughout the movie. But they had each other's backs when it came to other's being antagonistic towards them. Cameron didn't put up with people dissing Bianca, Bianca didn't put up with that bully attacking Cameron. Simping to me is when a guy with no self-esteem, and doesn't see the value in himself, panders to women in the desperate hope that they will adore him for it, not realizing that those women either pity him, or see him as pathetic.

Also, I doubt that Cameron liked Bianca's personality, I mean who would? But he made her see what was wrong with her and made her a better girl, she wasn’t a superficial, self-absorbed and dumb girl anymore and that made her a perfect lady in my opinion.
Unpopular opinion: I kind of preferred the relationship between Cameron and Bianca. He's one of the first guys who treats her well, respects her even when he calls her out on her self absorbed behaviour. They both grow to be better versions of each other, making their romance quite a healthy one especially when Bianca defends him and he never feels emasculated.
I loved David Krumholtz in this movie, but as a kid I always thought he was significantly older than the rest of the main cast, and he only would've been 20 or 21
He helped make this movie as good as it was, and had the funniest lines. "Should you be drinking alcohol when you don't have a liver??" :D He has flawless delivery with timing, facial expressions and tone of voice. Very underrated.
I do find their French conversation funny, especially when she asks him when is he going to ask her out. because that what been trying to do the entire time.
