Norm reached out to you because he has to feel pretty good that he brings some smiles and laughter to the world, and you guys epitomize that. He knows that his work has that sort of dynamic. We all need purpose, and his purpose was to simply share his comedic genius although he didn't see it that way. I remember the time he first shared a Bob Uecker story with Dave Letterman, and Dave laughed until he was gasping for breath. Letterman knows comedy and has seen some. There's a reason Norm was his last guest. I've got two days off. I just want to watch everything Norm ever did. The one good thing about that is I think the only person who can cheer me up is Norm himself.

His cancer bit is about 10x funnier being that he wrote it and performed it while having cancer. His cadence of joke delivery was unmatched.
