    My dad said her dancing reminded him of a trip as VIP he took to St Petersburg (old Leningrad) when he was looking for another VIP, a Dutch professor, and he drifted into an empty bar during the day and saw a room which was a dancing class, a normal dancing class, they were all tall and so slim and moved amazingly (100 times better than any dance class in the UK). What do you do when you have such beautiful homogeneous Russian girls and boys and town. You dance! and you take your girlfriend to a restaurant for you need to treat her to outings and proud to be seen with her and you buy her flowers. Katya, however is half Korean, another beautiful Asian race. She is Eurasian and hence has enormous natural control of her body. What a combination!

    She moves beautifully... but... the body moves first save for going backwards when you send the leg back first otherwise you are off balance (you also use it to feel people behind you). However, as soon as she starts doing it rather than teaching it she does it right :-D

      Алексей, а вы чемпион мира? :)

    • @user-vn1dm6su4w
      @user-vn1dm6su4w Před 4 lety

      @@KPDanceworks Вы меня простите, но Ваш вопрос не уместен. Поэтому я его оставлю без ответа.
      А теперь давайте копнем, что заставило Вас задать этот вопрос. Возможно ложное представление того, что хорошего танцора может воспитать только хороший танцор, а чемпиона - чемпион. Исходя из первого и Вашей логики танец со временем не развивается, а деградирует. А из второго не понятно как появился первый и второй чемпион. Первого получается воспитал не чемпион, а второго воспитал первый, чтобы второй его победил, тогда можно заподозрить первого в том что он поддался. Такую мысль я могу развить дальше вперёд и в стороны.
      Но давайте отойдем в сторону. Сейчас в мире есть яркий пример того, что Вы заблуждаетесь. Достаточно обратить своё внимание ещё на один прекрасный вид танца и спорта - фигурное катание. Если по какой-то причине Вы не знаете имя - Этери Тутберидзе, то настоятельно рекомендую Вам ознакомиться с её профессиональным путем.
      С уважением Алексей Кириллов - человек влюблённый в бальные танцы и желающий их жизни.

    Hip stays up and you do no pendulum before rotation, completely blocking your movement. This Rumba forward walk is WRONG.

    • @osof3tos
      @osof3tos Před 6 lety

      There are actually a few ways to do rumba walks, depending on the method being taught, as well as personal preference of the dancer, or the dancer's teacher. Pendulum --> rotation is one such way, and it appears to be the most commonly taught way. There are other methods which blend the two, or do rotation first before pendulum, etc, etc. (And there are the other things like settling and taking the step itself) All these components have to be performed, but their order and timing can be different.

    • @SergeiGerasymov
      @SergeiGerasymov Před 6 lety +2

      You can't do rotation before you finish your pendulum swing . Period! End of this part of the discussion. Observe how humen walk. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel.
      After you finshed the swing (you can call it settling if you wish), you have options on how to get to the foot on the next step.

    • @osof3tos
      @osof3tos Před 6 lety +1

      I'm not sure by "can't", you meant "impossible", or "not allowed to". But I'll just pick "impossible" to comment.
      Unless I misunderstood your point, it certainly is possible to rotate before the swing. It's also possible to do it together with the swing, blending them (that is, the swing doesn't have to finish).
      How do I know that? By simply trying it myself, and I am very much a human being!
      Now, is it "natural"? Certainly not. Like you said, humans don't walk like that. But that doesn't make it impossible (like flying). Dance is not entirely "natural". Many of the moves we do would not have been created if we only wanted to be "natural" in our movements.
      Anyway, with all due respect, I don't believe you should just say "end of discussion" simply by declaring something.

    • @osof3tos
      @osof3tos Před 6 lety +1

      As an aside, the way she demonstrated in the video seems to be the way you described: pendulum swing, then rotation, although it's more blended in her case. She just did not mention the pendulum swing as a distinct step in her explanation, which some might find an odd omission on her part.
