Most of today Hollywood actresses, came from at least upper-middleclass background, attended acting school since young, and able to get acting gigs via their family conncection. Thirty years ago, this is less prevelance, and Silverstone has to beat who knows how many thousands of aspiring child actresses from all over the US to be considered.
Also, with the corporatization of fillmmaking, what they call charisma, is the girlboss CEO type, not magnetic attraction which this girl try to show.

I love the subtle little games she plays with him, it truly shows how crazy she is. Her giggle, her smile and taunts him, "Whatever you say." She's testing him and his patience is growing thin. The way she says *Nick* 1:57 is so noticeable. Like "Nick, I love doing what I'm doing and I'll make your life a living hell." This movie is so underrated and her performance was great!! I still remember watching this growing up and how scary it was for me back than.

Disturbing, truly. However the Antogonist’s manipulation techniques are incredible! Sneaking in to watch her undress is what she uses against him, but it was not his original intention. It was a response that was provoked by the Antogonst!

She had taken a prize possession, one of a kind, of Nick’s! This worked and nick walked into the house, and saw her, which leads to this conversation!

Actually, Alicia Silverstone's role is pretty tame sexually in this movie, considering she was still a minor at the time of filming. Now, Michelle Johnson, in "Blame It On Rio," was a whole different story. Michelle was 17 years old at the time of filming and did full nude scenes in the movie. "The film was shot on location in Rio de Janeiro. Johnson, who was 17 at the time of filming, received permission from a judge to appear topless in some scenes of the film." That movie had the same older guy, younger girl premise to it as "The Crush." The girl just wasn't a psychopath.
If the girl wasn't a psychopath in that Rio movie, what does she do to lure the guy into the relationship?
@@TycoNewRC The girl in "BIOR," Jennifer, played by Michelle Jonson, was younger, attractive, virile, innocent, seductive, and her father was the best friend of the man she had the relationship with. It was more of a bad judgement (by the much older man), self-control (or lack thereof), and a "heat of the moment" (being in romantic Rio) type of movie. The girl was a typical emotionally unstable teenager, but not a psychopath by any means. By the way, Jennifer's best friend, Nicole, was also the daughter of her lover, and played by none other than Demi Moore. Yeah, it was complicated....lol. "BIOR" is an "interesting" movie, to say the least, and it was really popular when It came out in 1984, when culture was a little more lax to these types of relationships. I am not sure if the movie would hold up in today's more judgemental society, and it probably shouldn't anyway. 🤔
Unfortunately for Nick he wasn't firm enough from the start. He had already done enough where if she wanted to she could've destroyed his life, without making a false accusation by the way.
Which is why Adrian gave Nick that soft warning after telling him that Cheyanne was in the hospital!

If he could have held that firm attitude for just a little while longer she would have known he meant business. And where the hell were her parents. If Nick were a true asshole he could have been pounding the hell out of this girl on a nightly basis without the parents being non the wiser. And he could have taken his time doing it.
