Dobbs, good job on educating others on not just piracy gameplay, but as well as ways to avoid being pirated. We all have meet the care bears out there "I'll quit the game if they allow piracy" type of people. And as much as I dislike their mindset on it they are as much of the community as any one of us are. I genuinely hope all type of players watch this series of educational information so that they might learn to better prepare and have less chance of being pirated. Giving pirates more challenges to overcome because when it's easy, it's not as satisfying. o7
Holy cow this is surprisingly in depth. You guys are way better organized than the average pirate I run into. I don't suppose you use a clan tag or similar so I can tell it's one of you?
If marauders (vast majority attackers who think they are pirates) would take a moment to watch this material from Mongrel Squad, the quality of the game play would go up substantially
people are so used to single seating all their ships, nearly all of the reclaimers I've come across have not had anyone in the pilot seat, making it almost too easy to just board the ship, merc all crew, and then just take the ship to someplace like Yela to transfer cargo..... People seem to still be very unwilling to properly crew or support their salvage operations and it's making piracy / ship jacking gameplay almost too easy.
Awesome. Do you have a vid that goes into the radar aspect? As in how close you have to get to get all the info you need without being detected and how you guys practically go about doing that? I looked through all the guides and couldn't spot anything on the ping/scan part of the sequence. Thanks!

Good show. I just wish that Kill on sight wasn't so prevalent as that doesn't give the victim's time to defend/play out the final. Incap'ing is fine as you can still talk to them but just killing outright is just Meh.
Agreed, if the piracy group has overwhelming force like 6 vs 1 they defo do not need to KOS. It is safer to do so but removes all interaction and that's one of the main reasons i pirate.
Well it all depends on what kind of piracy you intend to go. But in any case alive targets are a liability. It is as simple than that. If you don't need them on board why have them. It's just giving em more controle on the situation, wich means increasing the risk on your side. Anyway that video is a guideline based on mongrel squad experience. You're free to do whatever you want. If you want to talk your way with targets feel free to do so.
@@TelvaSlur Yea i understand why its done, just not something i would do personally as i enjoy the interactions. I agree that all piracy groups should have their own modus operandi and more power to them :) Only issue i have is full blown murderhobo's that call themselves pirates as they are not.
@@TelvaSlur flip the script. Police forces around the world will arrest hostages until they have control over the site. The last thing they want is someone pretending to be a hostage to get them from behind.

There's no irony, they're demonstrating an awareness that targets can kill pirates and ruin their hunt. Everything is on the table during PvP interactions.

Not sure what are you bringing up PVP as if its a foreign concept that needs defining. Narrating a 'how to' video about game mechanics is not roleplay, epsically not hardcore roleplay (as opposed to simply playing a role in a video game). I have yet to ever see Dobbss 'become a character' other than himself. lol
So.. pressing the 'Play' button on any video game in all creation is considered role play to you? Is playing any sports considered role play to you? What about watching a movie, is that role play too? How about putting clothes on, would you consider that role play? Do you think the dreams you have when you sleep is role play? What about driving a car or operating any machinery, is that role play to you? The terms you appear to be using to describe role play can quite literally be applied to anything.

KoS is kinda necessary aslong as you cant externally cancel the self destruct anyway and the yields for outright destroying are still that high.
