SolidWorks Tutorial # 251: differential gearbox

- sw-tc.net/#251 solidworks tutorial differential gearbox, in the previous gear tutorial (#208, marble machine) we inserted the gears only, here we will show how to modify them after insertion to meet the requirments. Differential gearbox is to change the movement from one axial to a different axial (typical example, transfaring the engine rotations into the wheels), in the next tutorials, will be a clutch which can be connected to this network.

This is a great tutorial, I learned a lot. Especially I like the trick of saving an assembly as SolidPart to get a solid body of the model. However, what's bummer is the fact that the gears don't actally fit into each other precisely: the teeth collide (intersect). It would have been interesting to see how to design them so that they really match with each other.

Ratio wheel to pinion in the gear set is about 1.5 (For example 10 teeth for pinions and 15 teeth for wheels)
In a gear set for heavy loads in trucks you need 4 pinions and teeth number in wheels are even like 16 or 18.
So it is only an example in some points far away from real parts.
But very nice example to do this parts for own constructions.

Cmon people. They just make a tutorial about using SW. I know the gear system won't work as a differential gearbox, just because of missing some gears (not because of the number of teeth or interfering or anything else...). The mechanical or physical is not the importance thing here.
Question: How will be inserted "straight miter gear_iso" to "Part1"?
I don't understand what u do like at 7:45, u use the cut-extrude to cut the leftover circles but i dont know how to do it, u just click cut-extrude and then click on cirpattern1. And in the final assembly, at 57:00 when u assemble the shaft with the gear, i guess u can mate the shaft keygroove with the gear keyway 1st and then u can concentric, it's easier than u mate the keyway and keygroove after u concentric (just my idea), anyway, great vids, just need the voice
how did he change the line command to arc command without clicking any option in the sketch toolbar? @ 0:57 time
when u have made that line, just go to the end point of that line and automatically it will convert to arc.

U shud know solid works creates only simulations
It is not very difficult, to create correctly model in solidWorks. With bevel gear too.

i like the looks of it, but that aint no differential at all, the two smaller axles are supposed to turn the same way, not the opposite directions
You skipped some steps where you changed features of some extrusions and these steps would lead to error

Gears are not meshing properly
Try changing no of teeth,module and center distance.

This design did not use any bearings. That why, it is a wrong design.
I cannot watch instruction videos without voice and annoying music (OK, you can switch off the music). Within the first 5 minutes I lose concentration and within 5 minutes I am sleepy.
gears is wrong ! this is a big problem for analysis
