My Grandgather passed suddenly in the 1930's when my mom was only 7 years old. At his graveside it was pouring rain and on a slope, so the pall bearers slipped and dropped his coffin on its side, which popped the lid, he rolled out and rolled down the hill to everyones shock and horror. They stuffed him back in, lugged him back up hill, and just before they lowered his coffin, my Grandmother noticed they had dug his grave in the wrong place, which was supposed to be with HIS parents graves. So while everyone stood in the pouring rain, they had to wait as cemetery workers dug in the correct spot by hand. (which took almost 2 hours). Finally, he was laid to rest just as the storm ended. Those events caused my mother to be even more terrified of death. She passed away on Halloween of 2018 at the age of 90. Some people wore halloween costumes when they came to say goodbye a few hours before she passed.

My dad died and he was unrecognizable at the funeral. It's an art, making someone look like they did when they were alive.
#10 taking a pic of a deceased person and posting it online for laughs? The person who did this must have been brain dead. Absolutely horrible, invasive and of course disrespectful!! $15k for such an act? Far too little. I would've sued for much more, including 85% of what the idiot worker earned for the rest of his life! I have so much compassion for the family of this deceased victim!!. What that idiot did will be in cyberspace forever.
I lost 2 of my children 3 years apart. I couldn't imagine the hurt that family had to go though because of some disrespectful idiot. If l got on social media and seen pictures of my children that would probably push me over the edge and someone would definitely get hurt.
I like the idea of a virtual funeral in somebody's favorite video game! I think it's a great way to honor the person and celebrate something they loved
There have been virtual funerals and memorial services in some MMORPGs. There's nothing wrong with them at all, especially when it's how they have go to know people from around the world.

Most funeral processions move slow or close to the speed limit. Funeral processions, like emergency/First Responder vehicles, are supposed to be given [Courtesy] Right-of-Way. I've seen vehicles NOT part of the funeral sneak into the procession, so they won't have to yield the Right-of-Way...VERY disrespectful!

I hate to say it, but I know of two funerals that were worse than your 10! The first was a woman whose baby girl had died, and the coffin was very small. The creepy part was when the people were passing by the coffin, the mother reached in and tried to run out the door with her dead baby! She was stopped, the baby was put back in the coffin, and it was a closed casket after that.
The second one rocked the city of Wichita, Kansas when a wonderful lady's dancer daughter was murdered by her boyfriend because he hated her dancing. Instead of reporting the incident, the boy put the dead girl in a sleeping bag and hid her in the closet. Here's the nightmare of it ... When the body began smelling, he decided to cut a hole in the bag, and for a week or so, he had sex with the body DAILY until the smell caused him to dump the body in the Arkansas river. Days later, the body was found, but the mother couldn't identify the rotting and deformed body. The boy was found and arrested.
As an afterthought, my father's family takes pictures of the dead in their coffins, and displays them in a beautiful album! One was hanged, and the family didn't try to cover the rope marks. Instead bragged on what detail the camera caught!
To date, I'll tell you I'm an orphan after you meet some of my family!

I remember when my Mother was alive..she said she wished that she could be put in a large window and everyone could just drive by and see her. If she had waited to die in 2021 instead of 1995 she would have gotten her wish. I don't see anything wrong with it altho..I think being close and touching my mother's hands while she laid in wake helped with the healing process.
Just so you know, a typical funeral procession moves along at about 35 miles an hour. This type of procession is almost always lead by police escorts. Its only dangerous to people who are completely ignorant of what funeral processions are. There are 2 reasons they travel at that speed: 1) to keep the cars in the procession together. 2) to show respect to the deceased by not racing to the cemetery just to get it over with.
A body falls out of a casket and I’m standing there you might as well call the guys in white suits and put me in a straight jacket, lol. Worse yet my husband pops up out of the coffin alive I’ve just lost my shit, lol.

When they buried my mom at the gravesite memorial, the neighbors had acually turned their chickens loose next door a nd they were trying to fly up in her open casket.The funeral director and my cousin who was aficiating the funeral were kicking chickens out from under their feet while we were shooing them from the open casket. That was not bad enough, it was hot out and yellow jackets were trying to fly up her nose. It was awful. This really did happen 9 years ago.

It's because of covid. But, I agree, it shouldn't be on this list really. Especially when some of the others actually went terribly wrong.

My friends husband recently died in Spain. She took his ashes back to Britain. Using the death certificate to go through airport checks. When she got home and needed the death certificate to sort out procedures in England she found the death certificate to be not his but some Spanish lady.
