Today I take a 1st Look at the Blackout Defense Quantum DTL Rifle and the Jalapeño from Dillion Rifle Company...
Blackout Defense is a small AR-15 manufacturer that came over the Aerospace and Defense side of the engineering world. With that, they have incorporated some cool stuff in their Quantum DTL (Duel Taper Lock) Rifles. From their barrels, to their triggers, to their machining process. Some pretty cool stuff.
As for Dillion Rifle Company, I first saw them at SHOT Show 2022 and got to take a look at their Jalapeño. What an awesome product. Basically a barrel / suppressor scabbard that was originally designed for their M139 Minigun. So they could transport it after shooting without burning everything it touched. Same goes with the Jalapeño and your suppressed rifle.
After shooting my 5.56 Sugar Weasel by Q LLC, with their Jumbo Shrimp Silencer, and getting it smoking hot, I just bagged it and left the range. Pretty rad.

I bought that exact upper from black defense and I love it. Needed to run a lighter spring do to it not being over gassed. But runs smooth.

I’ve got that exact clear ano 13.9, got it a few weeks back, haven’t shot it yet, got a range trip next week, it looks SO much better in person cameras don’t do the clear ano justice,
Been wanting one of these rifles for two years. Finally getting ready to order and deciding on this color combo or changing the handguard to grey with black stock/grip/safety/CH
@@jvz1448 yep had my eye on them since they came out … they kept making upgrades so I’m glad I waited .. truly you can’t beat the way the clear ano looks definitely worth the extra money … I wish I would have got the polished trigger instead of the black one but that’s easily fixed down the road …

I've found that a silicone straightening iron holder from Amazon does great at preventing my suppressor from burning bags.

I have the BD Quantum with DTL in transit and a day from my FFL. I have also needed that Dillon a number of times with a can carbon locked, steaming and walking away from the range with people looking at me like a freak. I need to get one of the Dillon covers.😄
Seems like it would cook the flash light or other electronics.
I don’t even have my suppressor yet and I tried finding a suppressor bag so I could leave the range instead of letting it cool. I can’t believe nobody made this until now
Jalapeño looks like a good option for strapping my honey badger to my horse saddle when I’m riding.

How is the combo brake and flash hider they make? Does it do all it claims?
Damn. That’s a fine looking rifle. Never thought about clear ano with brown/burnt bronze. Looks good. I will say though, for $2300 for this rifle, it is a tad bit disappointing that it’s not an ambi lower in the way of bolt catch. But that’s not the hugest deal in the world. Hope we get to see more of this rifle. After seeing so much of the sugar weasel upper I’ve been eyeing one since the 5.56 upper is getting out there.
I’m never spending over 1k on an ar if it doesn’t have it. The right hand bolt release is just too functional not to have

If that had a drain hole and some molle you could use it as a scabbard on the side of your pack. Especially if it had an easy way to compress down when not in use

Agreed. Thinking of adding a JP Enterprises silent captured spring to mine. I'm running on in two other AR's with zero issues.
Got a little training scar there with a huge impact. Hit the mag release before you lift the rifle vertical so the mag drops free. You'll knock 3 seconds off that time.

Hate how you can hear the buffer spring but that thing is sweet.
Is that sound the rifle makes with every shot the buffer spring or is that just the sound the flash hider/comp makes typically I get that sound from mill spec buffer springs and super light hand guards

Silicone curling iron bags work great for suppressors that are under 450F when done at the range. Pop em in there, rifle in a regular bag. GTG.
The dual taper locking seems a great idea, not so sure about their barrel banding in the modern age of stress-relieving processes.
For all the fuss they make the accuracy better be exceptional.
Gun sounds springy if that makes sense. That and flash hider ping annoy me for some reason.
How’s the brake on the rifle, I’ve been wanting one. But I don’t want so much concussion like most brakes.

Shoots slightly better than my BCM and weighs about two pounds more. If you have questions regarding warranty, gun details or any other specifics, good luck getting an answer. These elitist are always ready to take your money but don't want to be bothered by commoners
