This was some of the FINEST country singing I've ever heard on any of these talent shows! The guy had no vocal pyrotechnics or razzle dazzle - he just had a great, smooth, melodious country singing style - and that won the day.

I think Louie loves to repeat the same words (when he was working) over and over again, because he never was the best judge in Ireland or when with Simon. Christopher is a very sweet and gentle man and I fell in love with this man as he sang from his heart. Yes, but it doesn't make it country - this was more like a pop ballad. I'm a huge Keith Whitley fan so can't imagine any of his songs being sung without the country twang... Doesn't work in my opinion.

My father was a huge, Country and Western fan when I was growing up, and I came to hate this genera of music with a passion BECAUSE, it sounded so, damn, nasal and as irritating as all hell. That and the fact that it was usually, extremely, depressing, with all their failed relationships and cheating songs and so forth.
To try to connect with my father a little, I tried to warm up to it over time, but never could and still can't.
Now I find Modern Country just as bad, for the reason it's heavily hip-hop influenced and I hate hip-hop for a number of different reasons, and one being; it's so, insanely, whinny to me. All these idiotic, runs and vocal gymnastics that take up most of modern songs, sound to me like somebody whinning their damn, fool, heads off and is equally, as irritating to me.
I'm OK with a lot of the Pop Country Music from the 80s but that's about it.
I guess, I have very, selective taste I suppose. But Country with a lelt sounds a hell of a lot better to me than Country with a twang, any day.
