    The rear window visibility was my biggest issue when test driving the car. After about 50 miles I got used to it and had no problem. So far getting 60mpg on my first 300 miles

      I m guessing you have the blue trim, l am also getting 60 mpg, and similar mileage!

      @@Sweven521 correct should have mentioned I do have the blue trim. Have put 2750 miles so far and have been getting 58 mpg steadily since that first tank. Took it to Reno and back, climbed as high as 7200 feet and still got 56mpg on that round trip.

      How is it going ? I saw one 127 miles but idk cuz it’s hybrid and it has too many miles . Tell em your experience

      It's a lot better now. The first semi icy weather was rough. The car felt unstable and shaky. I took it back to the dealer and they aligned the tires. I didn't like the tires although they were newer, so I purchased a new set and it has been a dream ever since. Another thing to factor in, I have to pay extra when renewing plate tags-which will end up being double the price in my state. I didn't expect that. Th price for saving on gas I guess.@@ronaldvitulli3479

    Have a white hybrid blue trim (entry level, no extras save for floor mats). Agree pretty much everything you said (i.e., 5/10 in acceleration, but keep in mind I also drive a Mitsubishi Mirage so acceleration is no issue :). I have had the car for a few months,, 360 miles on it and still has 1/2 tank gas, avg 59-60 mpg. The Mirage gives me only 42-43 mpg in the same route, Mirage is a great value, but will take the Ioniq any day, a much nicer car. I enjoy your interviews in Boom Boost (today, and with the former host Bart). Keep up the good work!

    The biggest selling point of this vehicle for me is the fuel economy. It's so insanely practical, and at such a good price, that there's almost no reason to purchase it!

      ​@@CarCoachReports Not everyone needs an "exciting vehicle". And most people define an "exciting vehicle" = sports car. The effortless feel of the car and overall good handling and comfort and tech is what does it for me.

    Interesting car and review. I would consider this car if I was in the market. Of course reliability history would be important.
    One thing, I guess I'm the ONLY person on the planet that likes the Aztek. (Not that I'd buy one). (I catch a lot of crap from my friends about it). I think it was ahead of its time when it came out and when you see one on the road today it still looks current. They had a camper option for it for cry eye. How cool is that?

    Lauren thanks for the video. I have to buy a new car someday. I want to drive cross country with my wife and I also want it for around town. I'm not sure this vehicle would fit the bill. But I like the efficiency, I just want "both passenger" comfort too and handling on mountain roads. Any thoughts are appreciated.

      It has everything you will need. Certainly something to keep as a consideration, look for a vehicle with lumbar on both sides so you have a comfortable ride across country.

    Recently went on a test ride in one of these. I have to say, it was extremely loud (road noise) even in top level trim. Too bad because it was decent otherwise.

      Interesting. The 2019 and 2020 should be similar with minor interior changes but the 2020 IONIQ plug in was way quiter than the 2020 PRIUS PRIME I test drove yesterday (freeway and surface streets). The PRIME seem to struggle more going up the ramp which created more engine noise.

      @@CarCoachReports 1) I'm not interested in fitting in a large lot of buyers. :) 2) PHEVs will prevale, eventually ... because a large number of EV's on the streets ... in the near future ... will cause problems between drivers ... at charging stations. ;) 3) In Europe Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a champion of the sales. ;)

      It depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for just fuel efficiency, it’s a great choice.

      I love my hybrid. Get the lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. It's super comfy and handles good. Sad that this review doesn't mention handling. It doesn't complain about taking it above 5/10.
      It's not a sports car but the electric motor gives it enough torque push to be really good for merging onto highways and passing.

    I like the Ioniq, but I just don't understand why Hyundai went with a DCT in this. It's not a sports car, nobody cares if it's a CVT or DCT and the trans had been a reliability problem ever since it was first released in Korea.

      There is less frictional losses with a dct at highway speeds. This is how this car gets better highway mpg than the prius. It really gives the car really good predictability and overtaking comfort. And it doesn't drone. The trans is actually completely silent apart from a little bit of clicking from 0-20 when its fully electric so you can notice any small sounds. Overall it makes it a lot more fun to drive, reliability is down to time, I haven't heard anything going wrong with these hybrids. There are smooth clutch engagements aided by the electric motor.

      I prefer the dct. Eco and sport give you 2 different cars. There is no hybrid like it.

    Interesting little car. I like Hybrids. Not sure that I would buy one though.
    I was fine with this review until you took off your sun glasses. Those beautiful eyes of yours totally made me lose interest in the car
    I did enjoy the first minute though 😊
