I started taking notes when watching CZcams a while back. It’s really powerful because you tend to implement if it is practical knowledge. I however struggle with journaling, this helped a lot, thank you Andrew.
Recently I started a reflective journal but, I was confused on how to reflect and how to organize my reflections on one page I realized it's best done by asking yourself questions as follows:- - what have I done good today? - what have I done bad today? - what can I do better tomorrow? - what have I learned today? That's as simple as it gets it's organized, keeps you aware of events your emotions and actions about those events and gives you a perspective on what qualities in yourself that need improvement.
I have tried these steps numerous times; the questions to ask myself are awesome, I get answers, but I get stuck on what issues I need to work on first. if I start with anger, then pain, fear, jealousy comes up. this is where I get stuck, it's like a Ferris wheel there's no end. Ive used journaling for the purpose of inducing lucid dreaming. It works. At the end of the night I simply write out my day on paper. Then I use it as my AA tenth step also. But when I write it out before sleep it comes out in your dreams in interesting ways. You can find answers in your dreams. Then in the morning, (this is the most important part) as soon as you wake up, before you get out of bed start writing down your dreams. Even if you don't remember them just start writing. Eventually you will remember more and more of your dreams. The stream of consciousness gets longer and longer and lucid dreaming becomes more possible. Also through the day ask yourself, am I dreaming? ? You will start doin it when you dream and it will induce lucidity.
have you ever woken up in a dream? i had that happen a few times..i kept realizing i was dreaming and then would wake up in bed but still be dreaming..literal levels to my dreams
I would hate that to happen because I already have lucid dreams and I caught myself trying to think if something happened to me in a dream or real life
@@sadypack Nahh, nothing is wrong, just quite vivid dreams. It only happens quite rarely to be confused since most of my dreams do not make sense anyway :P Once (as a kid) I remember I was dreaming of toys and I told myself if I hug them while i was waking up, they would appear on my bed.
Andrew, I hope this comment makes it to you, thank you for everything that you have provided. I am now set on a new track of life to improve myself and I owe it to you for the guidance. The lessons you are providing are indeed priceless
I've been really stressed recently from work and school, and combined with quarantine I've just been feeling really awful. For so long my concept of self-care was one of consumerism, a reward was always a new item of clothing or a new game. This channel has been so helpful in encouraging me to look elsewhere to get to a better place, and become a better version of me.
That explains why when I’m sad about something I always write to make myself think for solutions and after that the purpose of life just strikes into my mind and clears my head and I’m able to move on with Self-motivating words I’ve written down for self improvement!
Wow! My boyfriend told me about your channel and he is doing exactly as you are saying. I can swear I have never seen him happier. :’) thank you for sharing this! Definitely going to start journaling too!

@@nikisiapno3041 don't use question's that other people used for themselves use yours , this is like a first step to being productive .
Journaling:
1)Weeding
Identify deep rooted problem and remove them. The objective is getting rid on the roots to deep constant problems.
- Define the problem objectively, and think about it objectively (how it is in reality)
-Think about it subjectively, think about the problem it’s causing
-Summarize it in a single sentence and write it on the top of the page
-Write about the problem, just write about it as you feel
-Soon or later you will find and rationalize the solution of the problem and you will find it on your very eyes written on that page
How to do it:
Cue → Routine → Reward
-Cue: something that reminds you of doing the event
-Routine: doing the event
-Reward: something that you benefit from doing the event
2)Reflect
Reflect on the past (day, week, month)
You need a cue: for example brush your teeth
-Reminds you of congratulating yourself for the things you have done well in that period
-Pinpoints the things you could do better
-Makes you stay on track and understand if you are actually getting closer to your goals
3)Planning
Planning ahead for the future, for example every single evening or morning you plan tomorrow or the rest of the day
-The next day you wake up knowing exactly what you need to do
-Reduces thinking, increases actions
-Plan whole year ahead (printing whole year calendar), this way your effectiveness will increase drastically
it’s suggested that the cue for this routine is to reflect, but you could just set up a reminder on your phone, it’s up to you.
4)Note taking
Use your jurnal to take notes of the thing you are consuming
-Improves your attention
-Allows you to use that information everytime you need it
It’s suggested to make rules to yourself in order to not waste time being inefficient (for example watching instructional youtube videos without taking notes)
5)Questions
The quality of your life is determined by the quality of the questions that you ask yourself
-Asking yourself the right questions is fundamental to make the right decisions in the future
-By asking yourself questions you get knowledge from yourself instead of the outside (usually when we face a problem we search the solution outside ourselves EG: youtube, google)
-There is a huge amount of perfect answers deep down in our brain that need to be pulled out by asking yourself the right questions
it’s suggested to ask yourself what your life is gonna look life in 10 years time if you don’t change, if you are not happy with your answer then you need to ask yourself how you are going to change.

- what have I done good today?
- what have I done bad today?
- what can I do better tomorrow?
- what have I learned today?
That's as simple as it gets it's organized, keeps you aware of events your emotions and actions about those events and gives you a perspective on what qualities in yourself that need improvement.

Thanks for the PDF, Andrew. I love doing writing as a side hobby and recently thought about journaling my self-improvement journey. I do wish that I had journaled the past year of my self-improvement journey, but I'll start today. Better late than never.
Great video. Asking yourself questions makes perfect sense.

Thank you for this wisdom.
Everytime I am caught up in a busy mind and feel overwhelmed, I write in my journal just like this. I never thought I could benefit doing it everyday. Perhaps I wouldnt get to a point of being so overwhelmed if I did 😁 thanks, Andrew🖤
What this guy shared here is really profound method if followed regularly will reap you numerous benefits . Extraordinary stuff . Please don't take these methods for granted, push yourself beyond your comfort zone and start journaling . And I wanna thank you bro Andrew for taking the time and putting the effort to share your knowledge with us .

I would hate that to happen because I already have lucid dreams and I caught myself trying to think if something happened to me in a dream or real life
@@costascostas1760 that's fascinating. Tell more, but I think maybe something is wrong. I don't think it should be this extreme.
For me this is one of the profound best informative self improvement video that I watched on youtube. Thank you
Thank you so much Andrew!
So glad I found this channel. I have a 17 year old son and he’s already seeing benefits. Helps the family too.
Yes I am going to start journaling
Rebuilding the habit. Thank you.

MASSIVELY UNDERRATED CHANNEL!
Just rewatched the video to keep on myself journaling in coherent manner
What is an amazing young man? I already introduced your video to my 9 years old boy and let him know the power of reading. Thank you for all these.
this kid knows what he's talking about. Those are solid steps, and I like to add Observations to that list. Thanks!
That explains why when I’m sad about something I always write to make myself think for solutions and after that the purpose of life just strikes into my mind and clears my head and I’m able to move on with Self-motivating words I’ve written down for self improvement!
Andrew You are a great guy, and defefinetly i would enjoy having a friend that I can improve with.
a close friend of mine, the Oxford dictionary, is always open for a friendship and will defefinetly help you improve.
Geez, I wish I was so thoughtful when I was that young. Good on you.

Youre definitely top 3 youtube gurus to me. You have this placid desire for efficiency that reminds me of Tim Ferris.
