I agree I think this man has his facts twisted and also has an underground agenda that no one knows unless he spills out himself.
      (1) Kwame Nkrumah was born September 21st 1909 at Nkroful, Gold Coast (now Ghana )
His original ne was Francis Nwia-Kofi after an honored family personal.
Kwame Nkrumah father was a goldsmith a man named Kofi Ngonloma of the Asona clan. I have never met any Liberia man that comes from Akan Clan. His mother's name was Elizabeth Nyanibah. Nkrumah completed his studies at the acclaimed Prince of Wales now Achimota school in Accra. Dr. Kwegyir Aggrey was his mentor.
Kwame Nkrumah did his studies in the United States at Lincoln University Pennsylvania in 1939 and earned BA in economics and Sociology by 1942, in 1943 Master of Science, MA (philosophy )and completed ph.D at university of Pennsylvania
Nkrumah also traveled to ro London in May 1945 where he organized the 5th Pan-African Congress in Manchester, England and began networking through organizations like the West African Students' Union and served as a vice-president. In that same year He decided to change his name from Francis Nwia-Kofi ro Kwame Nkrumah.
The list goes on. Just like this man is degrading our first president and saying he is the one that is telling the truth, we all should also search for the truth. He is not telling the whole truth.
I believe Nkrumah must have done something to cross him but way never find.

So, he would never have anything honest and good to say about Nkrumah. He is in league with the likes of Mike Oquaye, who seems to be peeved for not being recognized for his modest Academic prowess, and would puff up larger than his size to draw some attention.
The World is laughing at this man's ignorance. In this day and age, it is not difficult to ascertain anyone's Academic record. The Universities Nkrumah attended have shown parts of his work there. The late President was in the middle of writing his Doctoral Thesis when he left to join the UGCC. That is an undeniable fact. So, let this Attoh guy make a fool of himself with his lousy narration and paltry command of the language he has chosen to tell his lies with. Both Nkrumah and Ako Adjei were in Houston Hall. Nkrumah had a degree in economics and sociology from Lincoln and another in theology from the same university finishing top of his theology class. He further obtained M.A and MSc degrees in philosophy and education respectively. It is well known that he had many honorary doctorates conferred on him though he never completed the PhD programme he started at the London School of Economics. However, his fatherhood is relevant on the grounds that Nkrumah's dictatorial tendencies were unprecedented and no Ghanaian leader has arrogated power like Nkrumah did. We need to study it and understand his ideas better in order to construe the bigger picture. Many of our problems go back to the policies of Nkrumah and until we stop seeing him as some divine figure, we will continue repeating them. We need to learn and improve.

I bet this man was one of those folks that colluded with the CIA to overthrow Nkrumah's government in February 1966. Hence the reason I don't put some of these elders on a pedestal. The same thing happened in Nigeria as well. This was sad to watch.
No matter how this man try to put Kwame Nkrumah down, history will always be kind to Nkrumah. He was one of the pioneers of pan-Africanism in Africa. A lot of civil rights activists attended his inauguration in 1957. I.e. Martin Luther king Jr and his wife. Hence the reason his name is well known amongst blacks in diaspora. But nobody knows this man that's speaking ill of the great man.

No. Kwame Nkrumah was born in Gold Coast in Nzemaland or of the Nzema tribe in the then Gold Coast (South-West Gold Coast/Ghana) so he was a Gold Coaster and later Ghanaian when Gold Coast became Ghana. His name Nkrumah as explained in the previous post is a corruption of or the mispronunciation of Nkoroba/Nkoba or Ngolomba as he was called in Nzema language and also in some Fanti slant.
Nkoroba/Nkoba (only child) or Ngolomba as indeed rendered or presented by various historical records and sources, some of them anecdotal and others apocryphal, was his biological father's name (Ngolomba). Nevertheless, we should do the man (Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, first prime minister and first president of Ghana) his due honour, and respect the name he carried, Kwame Nkrumah, and the citizenship he bore as a Gold Coaster/Ghanaian and not rant and rage over this.
We all, from our ancestry to modern times, have come from somewhere to settle somewhere to become citizens of some place, so what's the hue and cry and brouhaha about somebody not being Ghanaian? We become citizens of any country, state or community by birth or through naturalisation or by genealogical or ancestral lineage, and Kwame Nkrumah was Ghanaian by birth, born in Nzemaland in South-West Gold Coast or South-West Ghana that should suffice and put every argument of his original or native country's citizenship to rest. Thank you. *Courtesy:**SETHKBD.CO.UK**, SHAKESPEARE DRIVE, LONDON.*

It's rather a sad scene that most of you here commenting insults are young enough to be grandchildren of this man. And yet even if he may supposedly be telling lies, you have no intensions of making your own research before you jab your rubbish opinions. Here is a quote from the official Wikipedia page of Dr Nkrumah.. Note that he has two names.. Kofi and Kwame. This is not even possible because these are two different names for two different days in the Akan language.. Hopefully this will throw some insight to some of you who just talk without making your own research. Secondly also check the name he first bore being "Nwia" What's the origin of this name and which tribe in Ghana bares it?
I quote " By the naming customs of the Akan people, he was given the name Kwame, the name given to males born on a Saturday(depending on the tribe i.e. Ashanti or Fante). During his years as a student in the United States, though, he was known as Francis Nwia Kofi Nkrumah - Kofi is the name given to males born on Friday. He later changed his name to Kwame Nkrumah in 1945 in the UK, preferring the name "Kwame"
How can one even be named Kofi and Kwame at the same time. And secondly, why was the name Nwia removed?
