For those who are asking, there is a dining period of 2hours for our buffet. IMO, if the restaurant opens up for this kind of challenge, he/she should be prepared that there will be a strong challenger like you bro who will visit them. If they can't afford, maybe be clear on the disclaimer (e.g., Maximum RM10,000). This way, it sets the customer's expectation and at the same time control their "loss".
Suddenly came out to stop the customer is not so professional. And by the way, should they also be thankful to you for helping to advertise for them? Sometimes, we should not be just looking at tangible returns, but also the intangible returns.

No food should cost that much. You can say it's high quality or whatever, but food should NEVER cost so much. It is RIDICULOUS that a buffet should cost RM 799 that it is SINFUL. RM 799 is half month salary for many people, so don't insult them with your gluttony and money. Remember, taste is only until it passes your throat. Did your shit the next day look or smell better because it cost 20K?
Just my two cents thought but the boss's polite concern about diners eating too much at an all-you-can-eat buffet seems wrong. Given that omakase dishes require time for preparation, the preparation time would also naturally eat into the typical 1.5 to 2-hour dining timeframe as well. Instead of blaming diners for their enjoyment, the restaurant might consider offering a different menu if cost is an issue.

It definitely left a 'bad taste'. Pun intended. It's a collab in the sense that they arranged Zermatt's trip, but they did not expect to serve a lot of food. If they lost money on Zermatt, how many times they earned of others. Not everyday a Zermatt comes in. They should've let Zermatt eat and quit in 2 hours. I hope that's what they do next time, serving the same food at the Johor Bahru outlet, which is being arranged for publicity obviously.

What I think is this - it’s a buffet, they didn’t put a limit at the start although they could have. So you should be able to eat however much you want. If they want you to stop, you’re doing them a favour so they should be asking (quite literally for mercy) with that mentality. So I’m not really a fan of the boss’s tone when he felt like he was entitled to ask you to go “agar-agar” - it means he would probably do it to other customers too which for me would ruin the whole “buffet” ‘free-to-eat’ experience. No customer including Zermatt should feel like they must “limit” themselves in a buffet unless expressly stated by the boss *at the start*.

The owner said it himself: "I am a businessman!". Well, Mr. Businessman, then it is also your obligation to honor your obligations. You advertised it as an all-you-can-eat buffet for a fixed price and took this man's money for it. This is called a CONTRACT. You cannot cancel a contract unliterary - that's the whole point of a contract!
Did your patron not pay (ie uphold his end of the contract)? Yes, he did. It was YOU who broke the contract. So, Mr. Businessman, perhaps you should go back to Kindergarden to play with the other kids instead of trying to run a business without knowing the first thing about it.
Most of the time you make a PROFIT with this offer and when one time you don't, you WHINE like a little child! Also, very professional indeed to ask him to turn off his camera once it was no longer to your advantage (free promotion to half a million people).

It appears the Wagyu hamburg and lamb ribs as final servings were strategically designed to "kill off" any normal eater's appetite. Hence, when you requested 10 more servings of A5, they must've been really thrown back and went like "what the..?!?" 😂

If you think you can devour food like zermatt you are dreaming. Those premium foood is super super rich its either u gave up because the richness is too much or you will become sick after a while. My advice, just enjoy and relax. Dont go ham on the food. Use the 2 hour wisely.

Most of us know that omakase is not the amount literally in terms.
It's the experience you pay for. Most of diners worthy of their salt will visit for the RMXXXX* experience, ngl.
You will know what you want and you can tell the chefs not to ply you generously. Most of them are rather courteous, accomodating and more than ready to serve ❤

I used to work in fnb, and zermatt is really a very nice customer to serve. Polite and interactive. If got chance would love to serve him some food and eat along side him. Cannot finish can always pass the plate to him hahahah
no dessert / disclaimer - hard to believe the skit narrative. poorly executed if it were really true because it’s not funny at all and reflects negatively on the restaurant as well as the videographer for keeping the video on in spite of request to turn off.

I think Big Eater that does eating for commercial purpose should know your appetite and how different are you comparing to normal people. If you feel you are train to eat more, you should just pay the price of more than 1 pax. Plus, even the team member were eating in the video thus I think it is fair that you pay the price of more than a pax. I've seen several Huge Mukbangs participant actually paid 3 to 5 person price because they know they eat more than normal people does and this is a respect to you and restaurant owner.
It's true that all you can eat are unlimited refill but we are human and sometimes we gotta understand that if everyone is not being respectful and understanding, business will not be able to survive.

personally I find zermatt stepped out of line. it was a collab, which we only found out much later. so in a way this video was a marketing effort by the resto. ate so much. so even if chef stopped serving there should be no grievances . what I find unprofessional about zermatt was chef said to stop filming but zermatt still put that bit in the video. guess CZcams "fame" got into zermatt and team heads.

My point is, if Kobu/Rowens Holding S/B worry about the many few big eater out there that can glutton away your profit, you probably should reconsider your business model by not doing buffet or perhaps buffet for the elderly.
