It looks fun
It's definitely Borderlands 2 cranked up to 11.
The fact that Randy himself said Lilith is holding an INFINITY PISTOL, sold me. Hopefully there’s more iconic weapons in the movie
What an amazing cast of actors. Cate Blanchett, Jack black, Kevin Hart and Jaime Lee Curtis. Looks very fun and a crazy good time. I'm not a huge fan of the games. I'll see this. I'm getting guardians of the galaxy vibes from this. Just a good time film.

Feel like they wanted to go for the old rugged look for some characters personally i don’t mind it they didn’t have to 100% everybody’s likeness to each and every character heard they said it wasn’t going to be an exact adaptation from the very beginning and i’m cool with it as long as the movie still carries the weight with the games randomness and goofyness i’m cool with it

Definitely extremely excited for this. I was 15 when I first started playing through the original game. Lilith is one of my all time favorite video game characters and loved how she always remained in the heart and center of it all. 🔥
I think a few characters could've been cast differently, but since this is a film adaption, like you said it needs to be seperated from the game universe. That's actually one of the reasons why I'm even more stoked about it. We'll get to see different sides to these characters and what they're doing on Pandora. By the way, this looks incredible and it looks like an actual planet of Pandora. Very accurate depiction of it. Love Jamie Lee Curtis in anything (my all time favorite actor). Getting to finally see her star opposite Cate Blanchett (another of my all time favorites) is going to be brilliant! Ariana as Tiny Tina, Gina Gershon as Mad Moxxi and Jack Black as Claptrap will do well in this one.
It looks like a lot of fun exactly how borderlands movie should be been a fan of the games even since I played tales from the borderlands

This movie was written and directed by Eli Roth and produced by Avi Arad. You would've wished James Gunn and George Miller would've been involved before they shot this back in 2021

I honestly think this looks like a ton of fun. Your character is in the game are money hungry treasure hunters in the world, full of psychopaths and gross out humor. This looks just like the game.

Little fun fact Ariana Greenblatt the actress that has the role of Tiny Tina she used to act on a Disney Channel series called Stuck In The Middle as a character named Daphne Diaz and she also acted in Love And Monsters as a character named Minnow oh yeah and if there's going to be more Borderlands movies they need to have Handsome Jack, Brick, Mordecai and his bird, Torgue, Dr. Zed, Angel, Commandant Steele, General Knoxx, all of the other Vault Hunters, Crazy Earl, and other characters from games that aren't in the first movie

She's a perfect choice.
It reminds me of a Molly Ringwood film called Spacehuter along time ago I love that one, I'll definitely be going to see this.
Oh yeah im fully on board with this movie, after only playing Telltales Tales from the Borderlands I'm gonna give the other games a try and get fully immerse into this universe

You're in for a massive disappointment and here's why.
- This movie was shot in 2021.
- Joe Crumbie who is credited as one of the writers is a pseudonym for Craig Mazin who wrote The Last of Us and Chernobyl TV series but wanted his name removed from this movie.
- The producer they're referring to in the trailer is Avi Arad. He also was a big producer on Morbius and Madame Web

I i wished they got anne hathaway for tannis; i can just see her pulling off that type of role.

It's pretty cool to see you so hyped for the movie Mama's Geeky, as for me it's Meh, I'll still watch it because I've been a big fan of the games and played hundreds of hours in all including the collections/remasters as well as the stand alone, but this trailer definitely! Lacks the excitement! That Borderlands is known for! And the main vault hunter cast aside from Kreig and Claptrap in my opinion is bad! I don't know if this is based on the games or is it, it's own story for the movie, either way i see alot of things wrong with it!!
I'm so sorry you think the casting is bad! I always refuse to fully form opinions until I see the movie. Very hard to judge off of a trailer. It could be awful, it could be great, it could just be a fun time at the movies! We will see soon!
@MamasGeeky you are 100% right. Believe it or not, I'm very rarely like this, but knowing all the characters so so so so well, and then seeing the cast being so very, very different completely messed with my mind, so many details are wrong or are just not there.

I think the world looks great don't understand why Kevin Hart is playing Roland don't understand why Cate Blanchett who is 55 years old playing a character who is supposed to be in her twenties then we got Jamie Lee Curtis a 65 year old woman playing a character who was in her thirties
I disagree, you do not have to separate the games from the movie, a lot of people was expecting borderlands movie, not short comic-relief Roland, retirement Lilith and I know Tannis was old but she did not look that old, saw no voice-lines for Krieg and Tiny Tina doesn't feel psycho enough. That is probably why they slapped an "alternate canon" on it. I will just treat it as a borderlands fan fic because that is all this will be.
If they wanted it to be separate they should have made it its own thing. They had to know the reaction from fans was going to be like this. No one was very excited when they heard the casting, and now it seems like the majority of fans are not on board with this. I don't care if Randy Pitchford was involved the whole time, this looks much different than the spirit of borderlands. This is a team up action film set in the borderlands universe that will have fan service and easter eggs galore, a terrible story, and what will undoubtedly be Handsome Jack at the end/mid-credits etc. I think if you want to separate the games from the movie then say it's "inspired by Borderlands" or some other nonsense. Don't use the exact same characters, swap their ages and timelines around, and just think fans will eat it up. As you can tell I don't have any faith this will be good.

@georgen5882 yea, I can understand where you are coming from. First off, the cast choice is atrocious. Second, it reminds me of guardians of the galaxy or suicide squad, and third... they look like frickin cosplayers as cool as they look it kinda looks out of place a bit (if that makes sense in the apocalypse)

Gina Gershon is Moxxi... definitely one of the better casting, imo. The jury is still out for Roland character. I mean.... Cate TOWERS over him! I'm cautiously optimistic tho!
Honestly it looks chaotic just like the games my only negative about this is that Tiny Tina doesn't sound like Tiny Tina in the games but hey I love Tiny Tina so I'm gonna go see it

I have hundreds of hours of playtime into Borderlands 2 and 3, so I'm definitely excited, Krieg is my favorite character, so I'm eager to see what they do with him. I'm hoping they will tease Handsome Jack at the end, so they can use that for the story if they plan on making a sequel.

I heard the rumours that Atlas company in this movie is mercenary group hired by Hyperion, while big baddie of this movie Atlas himself will be disfigured at the end of movie, becomming Handsome Jack in the sequel with grudge against Lilith.
This is definitely giving off massive Guardians of the Galaxy vibes.
And we all know how I feel about the Guardians... lol

They are all there :D Moxxi, Lilith, Roland, Tiny Tina, Dr. Tannis, Krieg, and Clap trap. This is going to be a really fun movie.
I know alot of people are throwing a shitfit over this but IMO it looks like a ton of fun and the fact that Randy Pitchford says this lives alongside the games eases my ability to accept a 2ft Roland lol , since this is basically an alternate universe to the games canon. Tonally and visually it is spot on.

Kevin Hart wayyyy to short. Kate too old. Tannis’ hair should be black. Where’s Brick, Mordecai, Handsome Jack. Why not just use the actual voice actor for Claptrap. All that said I’ll still go watch.
This is more based on the first game. Jack wont be in it.
Cate still looks good for her age and honesty i think she looks amazing as lilith just missing the siren tatoos. Also how is it cate is too old but tannis complaint is her hair color?

I have played these games multiple times. Don't act like you know me. It was clear from pretty much the start they weren't going to do the same exact story. I prefer changes in things. I have been reading comic books since I was 8 and I am always excited to see changes brought to screen because then I don't know what is going to happen and I can be surprised.
