One of the messages he sends off is don't be like everyone else. That's why when he sees people trying to be him or be LIKE him, he gets upset. No one can be themselves anymore. And that's become an issue for the past several years.

Don't get me wrong, the guy in the song's story is clearly an ass, but it's like a man singing "You think you are all that, silly girl with no hobbies, but you sure as hell can't be as good as Margot Robbie".
