This is great. Value added information for sure. I went through a lot of shoes in a very short time until I found what worked for me. Now I almost feel tied, no pun, to the shoe. The great part is I can look at 4 pairs the same shoe and see how they are worn-out and some day apply some Shoe Drops to a new pair.

Canvas is also more breathable. So having some canvas panels on the side as vents can be life savers.
Leather generally lasts longer than suede. The problem is a lot of companies use super cheap fake leather which is the one that rips super fast
You realize suede is leather right? The only difference is that leather has a hardened surface. In most cases, it’s more durable than suede. It just takes longer to break in. You shouldn’t say it’s as bad as canvas. If anything, it goes canvas
Great video! I'd add rubber to the durability conversation, as far as toe caps go. Also, canvas does have a function beyond looks, which is breathability. But to me, like mesh, it should stay far away from any potential high-wear areas.

you reviewed the koston 3 sb with the sock liner and although it was an odd shoe it was the 'perfect skate shoe' and the sb dunk zoom high elite is just an improvement on the koston 3 in seemingly every way, AND with a dunk silhouette but yet no one talks about the shoe. You should definitely do a review of the shoe, almost as a follow up to the koston 3.

If you have canvas skate shoes you can try trick tape. They’re a company that makes tape that have suede on them and you just tape em on the high wear areas
I bought 4 pairs of those canvas strays cuz they cheap but the they died Hella fast had to resort to Walmart shoes just bought some leather vans cant wait to skate em.

@@christianflores I know it’s all personal preference but I was skating the Nike SB Portmore and I hated that shoe, now I’m skating the éS Accelerates OG from 2006 and it’s such a dope shoe
Best shoe ive iver had were some converse cons one stars out of black leather material. Ive bought them om sale for around 50 euros and they lasted for ever. No holes nothing.

Most people including myself, tend to see more wear on the side of the shoes where your pinky toe joint is(because it protruds and is a focal point). Unfortunately most shoe toe caps or durable sections don't extend past this point. Also you should review some DCs with super suede.

In the early 2000 everyone here was shoegooing. It's ugly, but the soles while give out faster than the uppers.
Rubber toe caps are the most durable.

Leather can feel slippery at first but once you break them in they feel exactly the same as suede
