I own an "otamatone color" model- the face is removable and interchangeable (for some reason). _I don't know why, because the instructions are in Japanese,_ but yes, you can just casually take the face off like that. *Yes, it looks like that's actually the faceless otamatone's insides,* though the lighting obscures it a lot.
