- We spent four nights camping at Peel Island, on Coniston water. This island does get very busy, so I would advise packing away early and setting back up late - and of course, leave no trace!
Hope you enjoy this video. Can't wait to get back up to the Lake District soon.

Your video made me finalize and buy mangos tent.
So glad I was able to help. It's a great tent I hope you have some fun adventures.
How was the tent after 1 year?
@@DoroTheExplorer Still working just fine
Nice. 💯👌
Ah!…nice trip, looks like you all enjoyed it. I must say that my favourite lake is Ulswater, I see you have a video posted, I’ll be watching that one next 😊
We had a great time thanks. I think Ulswater could my favourite too. Hope you enjoy the video, we plan on heading back to explore more.
Nice, it was a good trip, we need to definitely do it again, maybe somewhere a bit less visited, keep old man Coniston happy lol.
Yeah definitley a quiter time of year I think
Coniston Water is a favourite of ours. We kayaked over to Peel island (aka Wild Cat island in Ransome's Swallows & Amazons book) several times from near Brown Howe car park on the west shore when we were staying in the lake district earlier this month. Had a good wander around the island but like you, found it a popular destination for other paddlers so it was quite busy. Being August, no surprise there really. We also had a brief swim in the same spot as you guys and loved it. Can't wait to go back again but as you say, maybe at a quieter time of year next time.
Sounds like you had a great time
Cool google earth opening shot!
