I picked up this Split 7” after seeing Jimmy Eat World at the fireside chicago in 1997 and this song is still so good.
Someone get the master for this, and give it a proper mix. Seriously such a great song even 20+ years later.
@@prontomatt4787I randomly came across that record on eBay once and got it cheap. Never heard of jejune before but this song slaps. Both the jejune and Jimmy eat world sides are very crudely mixed but I think that kinda gives it their charm.

Once upon a time long ago, Ashen the band I played guitar within, played a few shows together in Atlanta. Always loved this tune that in my atmosphere, most had never heard. True treasure. Song still makes me feel like I can face anything.

What became of your dad? His band was the best thing on the underground (the real underground) when this split came out. Sad they broke up shortly afterwards. I heard Araby went on to write commercial songs. What a trip. You should be super super proud tho. If the internet existed in 98 like it does now, they would have been massive.

There's a reason that the #1 most downloaded unreleased album on Napster was Jimmy Eat World's bleed American demo. As soon as people had access, it all spread like wildfire.
