    Also, I'm over Kim! She acts like her life is sooooo hard!! 🙄 Granted, she has two children but she needs to stop acting like the World revolves around her and her family. Come out of your little bubble and LIVE!!! If it was too much for her to be on the trip, then STAY AT HOME. It's the same excuses with her every time there's an activity that doesn't evolve her kids and/or husband! GIRL BYE!! She acts snobbish, pretentious and stuck up.

      +KelRom812 Agreed. She's annoying as hell. I was through with her ass after she started crying because the other ladies were DANCING and she couldn't understand why they were having fun! If she was serious about finding herself, she wouldn't be so damn stubborn. I want her off the show. This is not the show for her. Bye, Tootie.

    I'm so tired of hearing Kenya's mom was too young and her dad didn't approve of an illegitimate child. Got it! When her mom turned 18 she's legal. What's the excuse? Her mom turns 21. What's the excuse? Her mom turns 30. What's the excuse? My point is...once Kenya's mother became an adult (out of dad's house, own a home and car, job or career) using her dad as an excuse is no longer acceptable. If she wanted her daughter once she got her life together she would have found Kenya and made up for lost time. It's that simple. I also feel it isn't my place to say "girl get over it" because I don't know how it feels to have a mother that totally treats me as an invisible being. It's sad. My heart goes out to Kenya. I do agree with one thing Kenya said about being in in the same room with her mom and all the family members ignore the fact that Kenya's mom will walk right pass her. Not cool.

      tbh Kenya should just accept her mother doesn't want to accept her period. I can not imagine the feeling but she cannot keep putting the effort whilst her mother doesn't want her.

      +annaisiomaful nah that's way easier said than done. People need closure on things greater and smaller than this so it makes it no different . In my opinion, it's worse. I was disappointed in Aunt Lori. Even if she has her sister's back, Kenya still has a right to answers from her mom, and for her to basically tell Kenya she has no rights ... it's a lot of scars and buried hurt in that family that is clearly not being addressed.

    Aunt Lori got on my nerves but when she screamed, "you are just like your mother!", I was like, ok she really is torn between the two. I'll simplify it and compare it to you having a bad breakup but your best friend still kicks it with your ex. It's impossible for Kenya's mom to have a clean break, as with most adoptions, when she has family in contact with her child. It's a messy situation that she has handled poorly. At the most Kenya wants a relationship, at the least she wants closure. She's not getting either one.

    • @Aced84
      @Aced84 Před 8 lety +2

      it wasn't really an adoption she just gave her to her dad's mom, and Kenya did she saw her throughout her life at family functions, she just completely ignored her

    • @snewo
      @snewo Před 8 lety +1

      +TheImagine91 it wasn't a legal adoption. The intention was to give her up in a formal way. It was grandma that begged for the baby to remain with family. The decision had already been made by or for the mother.

    I done know why everyone is saying that Kenya's mom has a mental illness. Her mother is a school teacher in Detroit. It's nothing wrong with that lady!!! She's just cold blooded and heartless. +eric brunson She was off camera for almost 40 years before RHOA and nothing was dealt with, so I don't think that matters. The family is holding things back and will continue to do so. Kenya needs to unfortunately face the inevitable that she will not get closure on this situation. It's horrible and unfair to her because she's the child and it shouldn't be her burden to bear. She didn't ask to be born. The only thing she can do is just try to move forward the best way she knows how.

      Exactly...Kenya never should have showed up at the birth mom's door with cameras from the show. I wander how Kenya's paternal grand mother, who raised her feels about Kenya constantly trying to make the viewers believe she was totally abandoned without a mother figure all of her life. Birth mothers give children up for a variety of reasons...if the birth mom wasn't willing to have a relationship with Kenya for 45 years in private, what did Kenya think was going to be different with her showing up with cameras from the show. I think it is unfair to demonized the birth mom, when we don't know her story.

Furthermore she should've told her sister "I understand you don't want Kenya in your life. I'm her aunt so I'll be there for her but I won't discuss Kenya with you and i won't discuss you with Kenya". All she had to do was create boundaries with the the both of them. My parents adopted and raised my aunt's two children along with the six of us. My aunt (mom's baby sister) was unable to care for them, but was around on a regular basis. They knew who their mother was & didn't disrespect her. They both are well adjusted adults with awesome families of their own and great careers. I come from a strong Southern family on my paternal & maternal side and this has been the case on both sides. Family stepped in and took care of their own. What is important is my parents raised them with the truth, so they understood if they had questions they were answered as they came up! They were raised as our brother & sister, but understood they also were our cousins. Truth is the answer! Kenya's case seems to be lacking some truths!

    I've been wondering abt Kenya's mom as well. I just assumed that Kenya's mom gave Kenya to her father with the understanding that she would have nothing to do with her and Kenya's mom's sister (can't think of her name) took it upon herself to reach out to Kenya to form a relationship with her, she probably thought she could change the mothers mind but all it did was open up a can of worms with the mother who never wanted the motherly role. It's all extremely sad

    I'm not a Kenya fan, but I can sympathize and feel her pain. When she said "I'm not going to do that, no one should do that," made me cry for her. I grew up without my father, that's bad enough, but she didn't have either, so I understand why she is the way she is. It's not an excuse, and I don't condone her behavior, but her situation is unbelievable. What kind of person does that to a child, sitting in the same room, talking to everyone else but her? That was hard to watch. I hope she moves on now. Maybe it was a blessing to not have been raised by her mother.

    Kenya had a mother, she had her grandmother as her mother since she was 3 days old. Yet to hear Kenya speak for the last two seasons, you'd think she was totally abandoned. She had a mother-figure in her grandma all of her life. We also learned that when Kenya had the opportunity to live with her father, she ran away back to her grandmother's home. We also see her aunt Lori trying her best to make-up for her sister's inabilities as a mother. I feel that there is something Aunt Lori 'nem are not telling Kenya, if her birth mom had her by way of rape or incest at a time when she was also dating the man Kenya knows as her father then that would explain the birth mom's behavior toward Kenya. And it would also explain why Aunt Lori says, that her sister had every right to give her up....IJS.

    And, about Kim Fields. She rubbed me the wrong way on this episode. I'm not sure what she teaches her children, mainly the oldest one, but one thing seemed CLEAR to me....She does not seem to teach her children about black history. They seemed to be very sheltered, and she keeps them in a dream world about the truth about the blood, sweat, and tears that come along w/being a black person(especially males). I thought that it was very BRATTY and DISRESPECTFUL of Kim's son to keep calling things and people stupid. I wanted to go through my TV at him because I don't play with my sons about being respectful to adults. So, Imma need Kim to handle that ASAP!

    1) Kim's children need manners and house training- about the foods nasty I'm going to eat at the hotel. Too much choice- and then she's trying to hide her children from LIFE- your child is 8.. How old was Tamar rice when he got shot playing outside his house being a BLACK innocent child.. Teach your children before it's too late. Now 2) Kenyas mum. I'm now totally understanding why Kenya hurts people- she is still that hurt little girl who never felt WANTED. People saying get over it. That's your MUM! The one thing we take for granted she never had. It's clear she just wants her mum to notice her. Not even explain but to acknowledge she's there. And it burned me when Aunt Lori shouted "your just like your mum" how would she know when she doesn't know how her mum is? The cousin saying you can have my mum- but EVERYBODY wants their own mum. Remember mums carry you 9months your first ever bond is with your mother. The whole family is wrong how they've dealt with it

    Kim being on the RHOA is a bad look for her and damaging to her brand. She should have never joined the show. Dumb... Now about Kenya part I understand how she feels because my mom is/was somewhat in the same situation (raised by her father and abandon by her mother). Luckily my mom was raised by a wonderful woman of whom I consider to be her real mother, but regardless of that my mom is in her 60's and she is still wants answers on why her bio mom abandoned her and she won't feel satisfied until she hear it from her mouth to end the curiosity, but it's a little to late now cause I'm pretty sure my mom's bio mom is probably dead now so no answers I guess, even tho some people did told my mom on why but it not the same thing and it might not be 100% true. So I understand where Kenya is coming from. Like you said I think she just wants answers, not a relationship.
    If Kenya bio mom was a common decent human-being she should at least write a long letter explaining everything so that she could give Kenya a resolution. I don't care what anyone say but Kenya bio mom is a fucking bitch, mentally-ill o no mentally-ill, because she's the one who spread her wide open and gave birth just because she was horny. While she have o had a mother, Kenya doesn't and never will. So she should at least do this one thing out of kindness. She don't have to see her, she could give the letter to Nori, o w/e that bitch name is, to give it to Kenya. And I promise Kenya will never ever bothered her again.

Her dad pleaded with her not to do it and even stated that he had tried it before. She wont have anything to do with him either.

    the Kenya situation is heartbreaking on both sides, there is something deeper that we don't know about, looking at it from another perspective Its better for a mother to give away a child then to keep said child and inflict undue pain and suffering, i belive where the family messed up is having Kenya around her mother knowing that her mother for whatever reason would ignore her herein inflicting unnecessary pain and mental suffering...quite sad for all involved

      +TheImagine91 OMG! It seems that many people missed this. Kenya has said on more than one episode that she has been around her mom at family functions but her mom just ignored her like she didn't exist. If her Mom never wanted to see her, she should have given Kenya up to a stranger to adopt her instead of letting her father's mother raise her. Kenya's mother is just wrong on so many levels and for the family to allow this for years is crazy. You couldn't be up in my house ignoring my damn niece, I know that!

There has to be something more. It's been 46 years, it's never been a secret that she was kenya's mom, why did she not attempt to at least talk to kenya when she was an adult? And her aunt and cousin looked crazy for coming at her for visiting her mom. I could see them being upset about the cameras but telling her she has no right to go to her mom and talk to her, that just blew my mind

    Phadera needs to write a parenting book, you can say whatever about her but her kids are soooo well behaved and you can tell they only need to be scolded once or twice and you can't tell me the camera gods are so kind to her, they just ALWAYS show her kids being good. And andy who sees behind the scene things has even commented on how good Adian is. I really would buy her book on parenting and I don't like Phadera like that.

    I feel really bad for Kenya. I can't fathom telling her to move on from wanting answers or a connection with her mom. Moving on, I think that because we are adults and are so used to seeing police brutality that it is easy to grow accustomed to these issues, but the truth is these topics are very triggering. It's triggering even for adults. My younger sister and cousins are 9 and we have not had that talk with them just yet. My sister stumbled upon a video about Sandy Hooks and was so scared and had so many nightmares that my mom had to lie to her and tell her that it did not really happen. It is just too much. Heck, it's too much for me and I am an adult. I'm not ready to see the young people in my family lose their freedom to fears of being killed in a racist society. That is just how I feel about it.

The dad gave his side but it would be nice to hear frmo the mom...I know some people that have been adopted and have looked for their birth mother and she didnt want anything to do with them so they had to find their own closure with the situation. While I do agree the young boys need to hear the conversation regarding what's going on in our community and what's been going on, I do feel that it needs to be told to them in a way children can grasp. Children don't usually grasp such heavy situations in the same way adults do. And those boys it seems haven't been exposed to that topic much if any, I feel it would need to be more one on one as opposed to throwing them into a room full of grown ups saying white people dont like black people...it's too many concepts, factors, situations, etc that they would need to comprehend to get the whole picture

      +Ashley Miller yea, that's pretty much what I was saying, that I agree they need to know, only that it's just so touchy and so many different levels to all this shit that it needs to be explained to children in ways children can grasp...a child's mind isn't as sophisticated as an adult's (most of the time) and I think it's dangerous just to teach a child, for example, white people kill us and leave it at that...it's so much more that needs to be explained and in ways children can comprehend, being careful not to give them the message to be fearful, completely distrustful, or even racist themselves. Bc when my old classmate who's a BLM activist, her son who's often out there w her (he's 6), got hurt at school and freaked out when the security guard who was white tried to help him bc he thought he was gonna hurt him.

    I just saw a photo of Kenya's mom. She's a Special Ed. teacher. I might be wrong, but Kenya's mom might be "special needs" patient herself. My nextdoor neighbor could almost pass as her twin. And my neighbor is special needs on very heavy sedative medication -- she still functions to a degree -- but she real slow (mentally) and has the mind of a 12 or 13 year old. She too, works, as a teacher's aide at a school nearby in the Special Ed department. I'm just wondering about Kenya's mom....she looks alot like my neighbor and they have that same "look" about the eyes like she's on meds.
    If this is the case, that may be why she's guarded. That maybe Kenya's father is also special ed and they hooked up early in life....she got pregnant and it may have been the WAY she got pregnant that messd her up in the mind. Kenya's father (as we've seen on RHOA) is extrememly outspoken, blunt, aggressive and one might even say "kinda ignorant". In their youth, while dating, he may have been physically, mentally, emotionally or even sexually abusive to Kenya's mother and that THAT is why she rejects Kenya. That she might be still harboring fear and hate for Kenya's dad and that she sees Kenya (however innocent of the situation) as a product of that abuse or experience.
    If you notice, Kenya's father seems a little off balance and a little slow.. Looking at Kenya's mother's photo, and what I'm assuming -- they both are special. I feel for Kenya and I hope she can come to understand ...if this is the case....that it was a blessing that her Aunt Lori took her in and raised her to be the beautiful, intelligent woman she has turned out to be. The Lord works in mysterious ways. That it was for her "good" that things turned out the way they did. That she will come to accept and understand that if what I'm assuming is correct, that her mother nor father were mentally equipped to raise her. And that her mother's mental condition is very fragile and what I assumed may have occurred between the mother & father may have taken a toll on her mother mentally and psychologically that she is incapable of getting past it. And to be reminded of it or forced to be put back in the mix of it , would be devastating to her. Hoping Kenya can just know that her mother loves her....she is just incapable of acknowledging it or accepting it.

    I feel like it's some secrets the Moores are keeping from Kenya. Patricia Moores sisters both had kids out of wedlock before Kenya was born and they were raised in the Moores house, I believe. One of the kids was raised by Pats parents as their child, not grandchild. They took their daughter, Kenyas Aunt Carol Moore, to the hospital when she gave birth secretly, telling the family that the girl had a stomach ache. I feel like the Moores are dysfunctional and Kenya could very well be the product of incest at the hands of Patricia's father, which is Kenyas maternal grandfather.

    We don't know what the reason Kenya's mother is the way she is, all we know is what we see on this show. Kenya said she would see her mother at family functions and the mother would ignore her. So why didn't she confront her mother then and not look for answers on national T V. She is fortunate that she know who her mother is and her maternal family. Others are not so fortunate that they never know who their biological parents are. You can't force interaction if the other person do not want it.

I don't know how you can have an "opportunity" to get answers from someone who ignored you for 45 years. If the issue wasn't resolved before Kenya went on RHOA, what makes you think the cameras are the problem? The mother is the problem, as is the rest of the family. They owe that girl some closure. Great Review! Just wanted to share a different perspective on the Kenya situation. I totally understand the situation that Kenya is going through due to experiencing something such as this myself. Aunt Lori's answer was correct. Kenya does not have the right to force her mother to speak with her. A woman having a baby does not make her a mother and her mother did not want the responsibility. Her mother is a person that does not owe her an explanation for not taking the responsibility. The reason the families are not speaking because it is not their place to speak for Kenya's mother. I think there is a family secret. However, I think they are not saying because Kenya is not ready to hear because she has not let it go and to tell her would open a pandora's box and Kenya may not heal if she was to know the whole truth. I have come to learn sometimes you don't want to know everything because it can get ugly and shameful.
