- I just purchased the Rolex Sprite, Rolex GMT Master II 126720VTNR. Let's talk about how it feels on the wrist...WHICH wrist you should wear it on...and is it worth it's purchase price. This is the weirdest Rolex in years...but is it worth it? Is the Rolex Sprite upside down or just backwards?
You are correct about the new chromalite being brighter r. It started with the new Explorer 36. It was confirmed by my AD and was also stated in the magazine that they gave me when I picked up my new air king 2 months back.

It also cracks me up that so many people cried that they HATE this watch when they first saw it in March, but now so many opinions have changed and now they want it! Testament to everything you've said before about the new, more odd releases!

I love it, all of the oddities considering. You're right about crown away from wrist being superior in terms of comfort. Good to see a chill, cherry non-stuffy just open watch take. Too few of those.
Congrats Marc! Got to love James and Sons. Brian and the crew are stand up people. I really love the color combo on the bezel and the Jubilee bracelet. I hope they make this color combo on the GMT in the standard configuration someday. It's beautiful.
As a leftie I love mine and it actually doesn’t feel weird at all. Maybe because it’s also my first watch with a date (I usually don’t like dates) and my first Rolext on a jubilee. So I have no sort of fixed idea in my head about where the date has to be on a Rolex.

The watch is only a “compromise,” as you say, if you are a right-hander. It’s really not made for you, Marc, unless you’re just in it for collecting and potential value increases.
Congrats Marc! I had it on my wrist😊 for some minutes at my AD a month after launch, it was great, but they did not sell it to me😢

On either hand my eye goes to the right side of the watch for the date so it still looks "wrong" on you right wrist.
They will do an update and move the date over to the 3 o’clock position.

Just got the sprite on jubilee myself. I'm left handed but usually wear my watch on the left so it feels strange as you say on the right wrist 😁 which wrist have you settled on after wearing it more . Got mine at retail price too so I'm lucky too

I like it allot. I have a Bluesy Sub and a Coke GMT and my next get will be something with the color green as I try to fill my own color wheel.
Honestly, this would be like having left-handed buttons on a shirt. As a lefty, not really something that’s going to make or break the wearing experience for me.

I like the colorway of the watch alot. You are correct about the crown not being an issue (perhaps even less so) due to the way the wrist articulates on the left hand. Watches do feel weird on the right wrist for sure. Mine can be fitting perfectly on the right wrist but is always feel like its rolling around my Ulna. Very disconcerting. If Rolex would straighten this thing out, I'd take it over a Batman.

Thanks for the video... It's amazing how weird it looks on the left wrist (brain can't cope with the date window), but on the right wrist.... it suddenly looks just fine.... Problem is that my brain won't let me wear a watch on my right arm..... not mentioning using the crown with my left hand (although a lefty myself) .... super freaky to realise how our brain works and sticks so strongly to our habits....

I'm a lefty, and the Sprite is my grail. I have only a few dreams, and one is to own this watch. I've loved Rolex for 10 years, but when I saw this watch, for the first time did I know what I truly wanted. I liked this, and I liked that, but I love and need this watch. One day...

Marc, I got (THE CALL) for a SPRITE. I am over the Moon. I called my AD at 5:30 the morning it came out. As it was, I was number 2 on the list . Bingo, hold your cards please. 8 months later they called. I had been waiting for a PANDA for 3 years they could not tell me when I would get one. So the SPRITE will have to do LOL. Also I only bought a BLACK BAY 58 3 years ago. I am left handed and putting it on fees a little strange, but I will get used to it. So to wrap it up with: YES VIRGINIA THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS

Nowhere rolex states this is for lefthand people. Its so avant garde! Schock and awe, haters really hate it, lovers love it, thats is why its such a brilliant move from Rolex, without a lot of effort.
I love the colour and the jubilee bracelet. I prefer the ordinary right handed version. Can you train American beagles successfully?

I appreciate watches that were oddballs, loathed, sat in display cases for months, and eventually became discontinued only to become coveted rare valuable watches later (Hulk). The Sprite is a fraud in the collector game but congrats on instant equity.

If they do not want to sell to flippers , sell to people who make 500g/ year: these customers will not run the risk to ruin their relationship with an AD for a profit equivalent to just a few days of work .
I think your wrong Marc. I am left handed and I wear my watches on my right hand. Left handed people are greatly underserved by watch companies. For the same reasons you think the watch is weird us left handed people love it. My biggest complaint is flippers have driven the price up and 30k is too much for the watch on the secondary market.
That’s true of every Rolex model. It was more fun before all this happened.
The left-hand Rolex GMT already existed under legendary reference 6542 about 60 years ago. Do I like it ? No, it doesn't sing. Plus it is again a look-at-me $$$ signalling accessory. Good luck wearing that in big city centers.

its funny how rolex "made this" for left handed people, which is about 10% of the population, yet I suspect that not even 10% of sprite GMT owners are left handed.....unfortunate for the real lefties out there including myself
Maybe they should take people out back and have them throw a baseball to make sure they only go to left handers.
The smartest people are left handed. therefore, I’d bet statistically, left handed people have higher incomes that right handed people. I’d bet >10% who own this are left handed.

100%! As far as I can tell this watch is primarily being purchased by folks who just need another trinket for their collection or “investors”. This watch, to my eyes, is hideous but will no doubt be collectible because of it.
I don’t find anything weird about the watch. Several brands have already released watches that has the crown on the left. Rolex releases this watch most likely as a tribute to its CEO, Jean Frederic Dufour who is a left hander.
If lefties have been wearing watches that is meant for right hander, why can’t it be the other way round this time?
Long and short of it the AD sold the watch to the wrong person, a disservice to the Rolex brand.
