The nicest Ranchero I have ever seen, its perfect. Sad the previous owner didn't get to drive it much before his passing.

Very beautifully restored, outstanding. I have one question, why did you leave the old generator instead of upgrading to a alternator? That’s a keeper for life. Thanks

Pretty nice, but looking at that engine, with the generator and timing cover mounted oil filler/breather tube, that looks more like a 260 or 289. 1964 was the very last year for that setup. 302s didn't come out until 1968. Also, a C4 automatic is only a 3 speed.

All the good work and you couldn’t put a alternator instead of the original generator

I found it on your website? Does your dealership take trade ins?

There is nothing wrong with a generator, just because they say an alternator is better , doesn't mean it is. if your on a trip with a generator and your battery goes dead you can drive coast to coast and get there. with an alternator as soon as your battery quits your car shuts off. the only reason they put alternators in vehicles is because they were cheaper to make. A generator generates electricity, alternators replenish electricity if your battery goes dead with an alternator you break down!
With a generator you'll get home, not with an alternator!!! My Ranchero had its original generator from 1963-2016 then i sold it. besides a generator being better, some people like to see the old generator which disappeared in the mid 60's

I think you have some bad information there buddy. I had a 1962 Chevy 11 that lost the fan belt. It had an alternator that ran off the same belt.. I ran another 20 miles before the battery went dead. As with any car they will run till they have no power.
