i like how the herbs slowly absorbed by the hot boiling water with the cooked catfish on it and it seems like they are married together to perfection. congratulations!!!
Fantastic recipe.... I've been broading my home chef skills to add in more Vietnamese dishes, Thai and Filipino cuisines. I made this one last week for a few of my Asian friends after a late night partying, playing poker and clubbing.....they were hung over, tired but extremely hungry...believe it or not this hit there hungry spot. Trust me peeps, her recipe is on point. Thanks Hmongfood...
Great recipe I will have to try it, just alittle confused about leaving the bone-in instead of just fileting it. If you could tell me how this works I'd enjoy that

hi in a 16yr old boy trying to learn how to cook for my gf. it would be helpful if you keep track of the amount of Fire you use and the measurement of how long it should be cooked and how much salt and stuff like that things like that will be really helpful just for me to know and understand more but I love your cooking and I think it looks great and I hope you do take this advice and I hope you're still making more videos thank you. im also hmong.
I love the Vietnamese rendition of this dish... so Annie do you know if I can add pineapple and other veggies? JW cuz I don't know if those ingredients will mess with the delicious ones you have given. Thanks!!! Cooking is such a stressful thing for me hehehehe. You make it look easy.
I agree too.. I always add the fish last after all the stirring and adding salt.. fish are cook really fast and if you stir too much all the meat break..

PokeChue you will be able to eyeball those things with experience. Now baking is a different story.
Pretty much just eyeball measurements cus everyone like it too salty and some dont. So it really depend how much u want to put it in.
You should be studying and focused in other thing.
Grace De Dieu lol you sound like my mom
@@spoiledsandi lol....
Can you use any kind of fish? if you do will it taste the same ?
It is!
Yes, at the time I made this video the battery was getting low. Its been replaced
How much water do you use?
Would it be possible if we got the measurements for the chilies salt so forth and so on?
Salt to taste and for chilies if you like it spicy add more and less if don't like spicy. Our way of cooking is use as much or as little as you like.
will shrimp and crab be a good substitution if we don't like fish?
You can substitute with any seafood. The taste will be different of course since it's a different fish/seafood.
LOL Same here!
You can adjust the spice level
It was yummy
Is there another name for it? I'm not familiar with that name
love the hmong knife!
can you make Thai drummitts? I've tried it once but it didn't turn out to be exact.
Great recipe. almost the same as mine but add ginger and yellow onion.... :)
Cooking is fun.
What other type of fish can you use as an alternative if you don't like catfish?
Good job sister
=) It looks delicious!! Could your rendition of Naam?
Yum! Now i can finally make hmong fish soup!
Is there a five minute gap between each ingredient added?
I follow the recipe and the fish was so bomb!!
Is it spicy?
Mhmm looks good! Gonna buy some catfish tomorrow
Yummmm did you leave the bones in?
You're such an great cook Annie ;)
Yummyyy 👍🏼😛😋😋😋😋
Yes Hmong knife is cool
Wow that looks! pretty good! do you have a facebook page with other cooking you do?... :D
You can use white bass or any white meat fish.
I would love to try this but some of the herb ingredients are not available here in the Philippines. Sad 😭😭
Oh, you know all of these things are found in the Philippines.
😜🤓
There's so many variation of this soup. The Vietnamese is a little different . Catfish should add last as catfish harden when they're over cook.
i agree
I
I agree too.. I always add the fish last after all the stirring and adding salt.. fish are cook really fast and if you stir too much all the meat break..
I cook like this all the time. It's a matter of how high u have ur heat on. My fish don't break.
True....the soup base is always first...seafood last because it cooks very fast....I'd still eat it though.
Isn't the catfish soup too fatty??? I mean like super think of fish fat?? I made some one time but I thought I tasted really fatty, I notice your fish didn't have skin would this help??
Happy Avocado The skin makes it go jelly and fatty, so yes the skin is what made it that way lol
