  • We arrived in Sofia, Bulgaria on a whim to explore what Bulgaria was all about. Little did we know, we would run into the biggest game in the Europa League - Levski Sofia vs. Eintracht Frankfurt on our first day. The next day experienced all that SOFIA had to offer and enjoyed the unique charm of Sofia. Hope you enjoy this video!

Always nice to see a video of my city :) BUT by "risking your life to cross the street" you missed out ancient wall and gate of Serdica. You can pass the street by going down the stairs and you would have seen it.

I hope you got to walk through the archaeological complex/catacombs beneath St. Sophia Church! They are so cool but not many people know about them.

7:40 - this is now how you cross,I am always amazed and honking at tourists like you that cross illegally from there. There is a whole underpass that's easily visible over there. It also has more antique remains that you can see. I don't understand why everybody crosses like that on that area, when really the underpasses are easily visible.
Also Bulgaria was never part of the Soviet Union. The national assembly wasn't the "soviet headquarters". Bulgaria never even shared borders with the Soviet Union. There is a difference between being part of the communist bloc and being part of the Soviet Union. By your logic, East Germany was part of the Soviet Union.

Thanks for watching! We missed the pedestrian underpass (they’re not common where we’re from, so we didn’t know to look) but used it on subsequent visits once we realized it was there. And, I can’t remember exactly what we said, but sorry if we misspoke. Always up for learning/correcting as we go.
