  • Are you a cattle farmer or rancher concerned for your safety as you work with newborn baby calves amongst their protective mothers? Here we present a simple solution to provide a measure of protection for anyone who needs to capture, move, medicate, tag, or do anything with baby calves. As any cattle producer can tell you, even the most tame and docile mother cows in their herd can become extremely protective and aggressive after they give birth to their young. Many farmers and ranchers have been injured or even killed by cattle who felt their calves were being threatened. The patented Safety Calf Cart shown in this video provides a huge degree of safety for the individual that must capture or otherwise work with newborn calves. The Safety Calf Cart simply works as a blind to hide the individual working with the baby calves. This product was field tested extensively with many known very aggressive mother cows without incident or injury. If the mother can't see you, she becomes confused and doesn't try to attack you or the cart! To learn more email kokorral@hotmail.com

these conditions aren't the usual usually fighting snow, mud wet condition where you can hardly walk thru let alone drag a cart with you

Interesting invention. The cow is like how did you get in there as she follows the cart with her calf in it.

What do you do that you need to take the baby and mom elsewhere? Asking out of ignorance.

They might have moved them so they were closer to a house, so that they could check up on them easier.

If the weather is cold the calves are better off sheltered in a barn until they dry off and have fed well. They could get hypothermic if left out in the open under those conditions. Once they are dry, running around and have had lunch they can go back outside and deal with it.

Cows and their calves should never be separated.

Jonathan sometimes it's necessary to separate them momentarily in order to move the calf to a warm safe place or vaccinate it. Some mother cows will hurt you if you bother her baby

But then again I’ve seen some individuals claim they can’t get near their pigs without weapons, because the pigs would kill them

@@pcolvin4235 Wow! She thought he was gonna take her babies.. Can’t say she’s wrong to be suspicious though. But seriously that’s horrible! I hope he's OK. Yet you’ll see people riding on large hogs or pushing them around and nothing happens!

I have never had a cow hurt me even in one of are bigger ranches. My dad tought me when I was 5 to always grab that baby. and get down and keep the calf between you and the mother the whole time.. A cow will never hit its baby.

thedrloboski stevens I think what you meant to say is your Dad told you! Not sure how many cows your dad calved or what kind? Barnyard cows maybe but range cows? Well go ahead and test that theory through a calving season and let me know how that went? Besides a that certain cow doesn’t even have to touch her calf to knock you down. As far as the safe contraption goes? Neat IdeA BUT I think Ill take the hookn’ rather then waste the time and energy that I more than likely ran out of 2 weeks prior!
