  • 📌 Hello everyone, it was really hot today (34°C) so I decided to make slow drip iced coffee 🧊☕️ with Hario Slow Drip Brewer SHIZUKU "雫" 💧that I recently got. I used cold ('frozen') dark-roasted beans to brew it to bring out the secondary flavours of the coffee, resulting in a fruity and sweet iced coffee. You can also try cold beans with hand-drip method (tastes amazing)!
You can also use this brewer for slow drip tea.
Fun fact: "雫" is a kanji character that means "drop"

    ⏱️ STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Put 50g of freshly ground coffee
    2. Moisten ground coffee
    3. Stir with a long stick (I didn't stir but it is recommended to do so to ensure thorough extraction of the coffee)
    4. Place the strainer in the pot and set a paper filter on top
    5. Place the upper bowl on the strainer and pour water (600ml)
    6. Takes approximately 1 hour to finish
    7. And it's ready!

A little too zoomed in. It was hard to see what was happening.

How much coffee do you use and how fine are you grinding? I am getting channelling on the outside of the basket, so my brew time is well short of the 1-2 hours that is recommended.

Great video! I was on the fence with this slow brewer but I think I'll take the plunge, with summer coming in a few months :)

Great! It's such a convenient brewer, I used it very frequently last summer as well! Hope you enjoy it in the upcoming summer!

My Hario Shizuku drips way too fast! The whole 750ml water gets passed through in about 5 minutes. Do you have any tips to slow the drip rate? I see you used ice.
