There is an additional story to the War Cry scene. Vicky Kaushal told this story that the little girl had lost her father one year before shooting for this movie. Hence, she very close to her Mama(Maternal Uncle) n also used to call Vicky Kaushal 'Mama'.
She was very shy in nature. During the shooting of this scene, everybody(director, cast n crew) was nervous if she would be able to say the War Cry loudly or not. But when she utter the words so loudly n emotionally, even Vicky felt goosebumps n got emotional. He had to speak his dialogue 3 times but could only utter it twice.

There is a constant tension in the borders of India and Pakistan . The last war between the countries were in 1999. There is no "war - war" going on now. That's just something the foreign media sells. Coming to uri, uri was a terrorist attack. Heavily armed terrorist of PoK crossed the line of control and launched attack on uri army camp on sept18. The target was the temporary camp with most soldiers housed in tents, leading to high casualties. (18 unarmed army officers dead)
The gun battle lasted for 6 hours and the all four terrorists were killed. Later the terrorist group was identified and their camp was destroyed by the army through the surgical strike .
