We visited the upper part of Maremma, a wild territory in the southern part of Tuscany and rich of castles! Montemassi, close to Roccastrada and halfway between Siena and Grosseto was in the about 1000 years of its history an hub of the area and plenty of troubles for the Sienese, who conquered it and losed many times. It became a rebels sanctuary and then from the XVI century slowly descent into disrepair
