I made mine from give litre bottle caps. The motor is running but its not sucking in the water. What did I get wrong?
These pumps are not meant to be self-priming.
Best is to keep motor below water level. or else, prime(fill before starting to remove air) the pump with some water and try.

I just found your channel! My son is 8 and I recently bought him a big box of dc motors and wheels,wires,gears etc from Amazon and have been showing him your vids and he is so excited! He's been making his own simple cars. I think it is really useful for kids to get into projects like this because it gives them confidence in their own problem solving abilities when they have to modify their design to fix it or upgrade it.
That means alot , because when I was child I used to ask my dad to buy me some science experiment book😊

Yes, it only depends if the motor is strong enough and can handle 10 ➕ volts
it can't! that's a centrifugal pump, used for pumping liquids (compressible). Vaccuming would require a different type of 'pump', capable of pumping air in and out.
