Join us as we hop in our Turo rental car with the Guide Along app leading the way... we're exploring Waimea Canyon with Ben & David, then adding Stef to the mix for a trip to Wailua for lunch, beach time, shave ice, and more mayhem!! :D

Welcome to an ambitious adventure that we're calling "Around The World In 80ish Days" which takes us to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Iceland, the British Isles, France, and Bermuda over the course of 81 days of travel and 7 different cruises! This fourth leg of the trip is a crazy one... sixteen days onboard the recently-refurbished Norwegian Spirit, starting in Honolulu with a Hawaiian Islands cruise, crossing the Pacific Ocean for five days, sailing around Alaska for a while, then ending in Vancouver, Canada... let's do this thing!! :D

I have been home this week recovering from surgery and watching your videos has really been a bright spot for me and helped me get my mind off my pain, thank you so much for what you do.
I love the Ship in the EARLY MORNING … sounds, smells, calmness !!! Most people don’t experience it. The staff actually enjoys talking with you. You get added attention and service. BEST part of the day.

We always count how many times Jay says "basking". I think this was a record breaking log. I lost count at 13 times. lol
Kauai is our favorite every time! We’ve taken the helicopter tour and the coastal tour by boat. Both were fantastic and the views are spectacular! That waterfall is gigantic up close!!

When we was in kuaui in 1997 we took a helicopter ride they took us close to the falls and evev into a lava tube and spun us around and you could see the top. From inside of it the mountains were beautiful.watching your videos reminds me of our 25 th wedding anniversary when we were in hawaii.loved the luauas also.

I've been to "The" Grand Canyon, I can say I definitely see the resemblance --- mostly in the different striations of colors.

I think renting a car was a good idea. We took tours there with Roberts and Waimea canyon through the ship which also turned out to be Roberts. My one picky point was most of our pictures are through a bus window since we never stopped at anything except on the schedule.
Wow how I miss home! Grew up on the island of Kauai, how I miss it so much. My son was also born there Wilcox hospital, was the only main hospital back then. It’s not the same now as it was in the 80’s, but still love the Kauai. Family and friends are still on the islands. Enjoy the Garden island!!

The Philippine dance with the long bamboo poles is called Tinikling! I have danced tinikling before and it takes a lot of practice to not get your feet smashed in between the poles! But once you get the hang of it, it’s fun! 😊
Love Kauai! One of our favorite beaches is Ke’e Beach - where the road ends before the Napali coast.
I especially loved this vlog. I live in Florida but was born and raised on Kauai and it will always be home. You had a great weather day at the Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Valley. Was hoping Dee would have seen a turtle at Lydgate beach park. I have seen them at high tide in there. Love following your adventures.

Jay has them tagged in the description. They sure have been busy lately though, I was spotting them in some of Morgan’s Very Unofficial Travel Guides videos on the transatlantic.
Have you been to Poipu Kauai beach yet? I think you will really like it. Easy snorkeling from beach and very common to be populated with turtles and monk seals resting on beach. We went in March and even saw the sprays from humpbacks out in the distance. It has a bathroom also and free parking. My favorite beach in Kauai
We did on our last visit, but it was too wavy to comfortably get in the water. We’ll have to check it out again on a future visit!! :D

Hey Dee and Jay, love the videos that y’all put out! Question about Turo - do you buy insurance through Turo? I usually rely on insurance for rental cars through my travel credit card, but Turo has a disclaimer on their website that most credit card rental car insurance does not apply. Would travel insurance provide coverage?
Not sure if travel insurance would cover it specifically. We do opt into the insurance through Turo, yes!! :D
I guess they should probably tell the People who made the menu it's not shaved.😅😅😅

The prices can vary wildly depending on vehicle type and time of year, so we usually let folks check out the Turo website for pricing. We try to find something in the $100/day range with good reviews that offers delivery!! :D

Hey guys. Thank you so much for all of the NCL Spirit videos. We are taking the exact same cruise in August-Sept but in the opposite direction. You have convinced to use Turo for car rental in Kauai and Maui. We would love to have the car parked close to the cruise terminal. GoPros! I believe we still had the Hero 9 Black during these vlogs, but we've since upgraded to the 11.

Uber/Lyft or taxi should be fine, depending on availability, sure!! :D
