Now I'm actually proud of most scientific religion from which I belongs to I'm proud of born as Hindu , words Hindu was said because our culture developed is nearby sindhu river , that's why people called it Hindu but actually it's Eternal Religion which is created by God! Note : Itihaas- History. In indian culture we believe that women are more near to God , we worship Goddess, it's said that if man is confused in any situation of his life , they should ask for opinion of his women shows We are already empowered as women in our culture, our culture already said that women are something a bit more than man and in DNA we found women have a one more chromosome and DNA carries information, it is said that woman have more intuitive because it's more closer to GOD, There's place in the India Ujjain where a Mahakal temple of lord Shiva , it's said that it's center of earth , she said well ❤️ about science++, Thank you enlightened Hinduism and talking about India much love and respect from all the heart, Jay shree Ram, Jay Hind! Vasudhev Kutumbakam meaning - Whole world is the family! Because of Hinduism World belives in Humanity I can say that!🙏🇮🇳 ❤️

    • @SantoshK.Mangalore

Mahakal temple is on the Tropic of Cancer. The ancient International Date line passes longitudinally 0.0.0 through it and Kurushetra. There it was a center point in the world. The British Colonialist made Greenwich the IDL in 1884. Even the Greek Scholars refer to the Ujjain in the Illiad. Astrology still now calculates with reference to coordinates of Ujjain. All my English School learning, has contaminated my mind, that I am unable to think clearly. Fortunately I am from the maths & science stream. Recent understanding of particle physicists is that particulate matter is just a certain manifestation of Energy and Consciousness (this they still do not understand even when they themselves say that all other theories have failed). Before I did not understand when our shastras said सब माया है।
Both TIME and SPACE is being created by the Big Bang. As Stephen Hawking said: there is nothing before the BB, as 'Time' itself did not exist.
      Vedic Sanatan believes :
The cosmos was evolved & evolving by the Big Roar. Time काल is cyclic. Birth and death is cyclical untill we break it (मोक्ष) based on our character चरित्र through karma. By Moksha the Atma liberates itself from rebirth and merges with the Universal Consciousness पराब्रह्म। So Hinduism at its essence is MONOTHISTIC. An all powerful God that does not interfere in the lives of all entities.
ALL THESE ARE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND. So in the Vedas, after the Shruthi, the Smritis were created. Like the Upanishad are a collection of very fanciful stories, created so that we may comprehend the Sruthis. So 33 crores (types) of god's were created through stories. The story is not important, but the innate meaning is of essence.
Now Rama and Krishna are two real human beings who lived a life of Character. The narrative of their lives adorned thousands of colours with each passing generation, just to make interesting story telling.
These are the Epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata, written by sages who were not brahmin born.
For a Sanatani, in my present human life, God is not important per se, but my karma it. If I fall short, no problem. I always still get another chance.

They have over a 50 year period done a scientific record of over 10 thousand observations of reported 'past life recall by little kids', many such cases in Christian families. Read the case histories and draw your own conclusions. Else you can continue to believe that the Earth is Flat; in heaven & hell; and the existence of Satan. I have no problem.

There is a law in India.
A sort of blasphemy law. Section 295A in The Indian Penal Code.
It was created by the British to prevent communal riots as a consequence of their divide and rule policy.
Hence, Its hard for a Hindu to speak out because of the extremely skewed judicial system and law and order system in place.
Its my assumption that India is the only country that has a constitution and laws (probably carried over from oppressive British laws) that actively works against its native and indigenous heritage and culture to promote so-called minorities like Muslims and Christians.
This is the primary reason Indians succeed so well outside India, but rarely in it.
The day we can erase this word "Secular" and promote Bharat as a Dharmic repulic, we will be a force to reckon with.

I am an ex-muslim,Hinduism(Sanatana Dharma) is a way of living , Modern Cosmologists and Physics Like Carl Sagan , Neils Bohr , CERN Scientist have validated and praised the Accuracy of the 30000 year old Vedic Scriptures from RIG VEDA Below are few lines from RIGVEDA 10:129 Nasadiya Sukta , Creation Hymn , (30000 year old Vedic scripts.) Then even nothingness was not, nor existence, There was no air then, nor the earth, heavens beyond it. There was no space, then who was protecting the space, What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping Was there then cosmic water, in depths unfathomed? Means there was nothing. Then in boisterous, there was neither death nor immortality nor was there then the appearance of night and day. The One (Brahma) breathed actionlessly in illusion (maya) and self-sustaining. There was that One (Brahma) with maya then, and there was nothing beyond them. In Catastrophe, at first there was only darkness wrapped in darkness, All this was only unillumined water. Action and Cause were merged filled with ignorance, That One (Brahma) took action complementing with cause, resolving to penance created the Universe. In the beginning will-power descended on Brahma - that was the primal seed, born of the mind. The sages of this material world, searched their hearts with wisdom, to know that which is kin to that which is not. Like rays of Sun, strong resolution to and for creation imbibed. And they have stretched their cord across the void, Was the existent skewed or in the middle, was above or below. It was spread akin. On birth of the world, powers with seed, form and action made fertile mighty forces. Others were great existing above in the sky. Spirituality excels materialism. But, after all, who knows, and who can say in detail, Who else can let us know, how and why the creation happened, Whence it all came, and how creation happened? the gods themselves are later than creation, so who knows truly whence it has arisen? Whence all creation had its origin, the creator, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not, the creator, who surveys it all from highest heaven, he knows - or maybe even he does not know. How thought Provoking it is! Right? A land where people perform Skeptical Questioning. Well then what is Hindu Philosophical God? God is the energy. Energy is everywhere. Energy condensed is matter. The Universe is filled with dark energy and dark matter. In other words, scientist have found that all of the Universe is permeated by an energy that they cannot explain. Similarly you can think of God as permeating everything. God condensed is Vyakta, and God in his pure form is Nirguna as per Advaita Vedantam. God is Brahman. Brahman is the creator and the creation itself. Brahman is Impersonal , Transcendent and Beyond. Brahman is Om. Om is the vibration. Om is the building block of creation. Everything and Everywhere is Om. The Material world. Brahman the Supreme, is the ultimate consciousness and the Absolute Reality. If you were a saprophile , you would have already fallen in love with the Vedic literature. Decline and the ignorance of such a intellectual community and ideas is something to be consciously thought about and discussed. Sanatan Dharma is not a “Religion” like a western idea , Rather it is the collective knowledge and result of various Rishi’s and Sages of this Great land. It Proves To be meaningful and scientific. After all the Indian civilisation , Did not believe the earth was created on 23rd October 4004BC also our culture did not give rise to the idea that universe is earth-centric. Islam and christianity is only 1400 or 2000 years old and hence cannot be equated with Hinduism, which is God found religion from times immemorial

Also Islam teaches worshiping one God and that the creator of the world is one. Islam is a message of humanity and for all people. Islam is the truth religion and perfect way of life.

My humble namste for making me feel very proud today.
One for being a Hindu and secondly, to get to know a person who- belonging to a totally different world and future ( had you continued in your previous life in Oxford with great opportunities, as you had mentioned) having realised her roots and ancestry and for finding Bhagvan, if this isn't karma, then what is?
May you lead this honest life of yours to its fullest and may your lovely supportive husband, your children have a great happy life. Loved your talk.

As you've said you are a scientist yourself I would love to see you do an entire episode based on Science and Hinduism and the relevance of it in modern times.

      @Abhigyan Baruah
English bahen yes Hinduism is liberal and you can feel relaxed and achieve your materialist goals. But your points dont make sense. At judgement day all these idols u will find in the fire of hell. Hinduism itself says those who worship idols are fools.
According to Veda Saaram, “Mruth shila dhathu darwadi moortha vishwamavidyaya klishyanthi thapasa moodha paraam shaanthim nayaanthithe”, means, “A fool who is worshipping an idol gathers nothing but pain and he never attains salvation”. I was convinced; what all I did earlier were wrong. There are 10 books for the Rig Veda, Ten Mandalams.
From first to ninth Mandalams, in several places it is clearly said who is the real God, who is man, why should man worship the God and how should he worship him. In the tenth Mandalam, besides this Lord Almighty, there is the mention about a Man, the first born and only born son of the God. His name is “Prajapati”. Prajapati, the son of the God comes to this world at the appropriate time. When the sin of the world exceeds the limits and when man, by himself cannot evade the wrath of the Almighty, Prajapati, the son of God plead before the father to give him a form and God, accepting his plead, gives him the form of a man and sends to the earth. Bruhadaranyakopanishad 1:2:7 says, “So kamayatha medhyam ma idam syath atmannuayanena syamithi”. The meaning of the stanza goes like this: “after coming to this world, he travels around advising humankind, what is sin and what is not sin, what is to be done and what is not to be done, and what is wrong and what is right. To those human beings, who accept his advices and obey his orders, he offers prosperity and peace in this worldly life and salvation at the time of their death. And being the completion of this venture to redeem the mankind from sin, he gets sacrificed at the end of his specified period on earth”.
verse 7, Chapter 90 of the 10th book of the Rig Veda, the sacrifice of Prajapati, the Son of God, is well explained. At the time of sacrifice, the Son of God will be tightly tied to a wooden sacrificial post using iron nails by hands and legs, he will bleed to death and on the third day he will regain his life in a resurrection. Praise the Lord! I was totally confused, who is this Prajapati, and who is the Son of God? As per Hindu mythology, there are 10 incarnations of God. First I thought, this reference about Prajapati, the Son of God, will be about one among those incarnations. But it was not, because each and every incarnation has got its own attributes. None of these attributes suit those attributes of Prajapati as given in the Rig-Veda and as given in Sathapatha Brahmansa, a supplement to Yajur Veda. Then I went to some scholars in my neighborhood and asked them, who is this Prajapati? Who is the Son of God? One among them told me, “Yes, there is a concept of Prajapati. ‘Praja’ means ‘man’ and ‘Pathy’ means savior. There will be a man coming from God being the savior of humankind; he has not yet come, we are still expecting him”. All this time Jesus was in my mind. But being a staunch Hindu, I could not even think like that. But, again, I am not only a Hindu, an atheist, rationalist too. I asked him, “Can this reference be about Jesus Christ?” That scholar asked me, “What made you think like that?” I told him “the attributes!” There are nine attributes altogether, two in the Rig Veda and seven in the Yajur Veda. In the Rig Veda it is said, “(1) Prajapati, the Son of God would be a man by form, but God himself by nature; and (2) Prajapati, the Son of God, when he comes to this world, will take all the sin of the world in his own body and get sacrificed”. So the sin of the world would be forgiven by the heavenly father. But as he is the Son of God, he is immortal; he cannot die in a sacrifice so he will regain his life in a resurrection!
Then the Yajur Veda, actually not in the Yajur Veda, but in the Sathapadha Brahmana, a supplementary to the Yajur Veda, seven attributes of the sacrifice of Prajapati are well explained: (1) At the time of sacrifice, the sacrificial victim, would be crowned with a crown of thorns!; (2) His hands and legs would be nailed to a wooden sacrificial post!; (3) None of his bones be broken at that time!; (4) Before death, he would be given a drink of “Somarasa”-the sour wine!; (5) After death, his clothes would be divided among the people; (6) After death his body-flesh-would be eaten up by the people; and (7) after death his blood would be drunken off by the people. All these attributes of Prajapati, the Son of God, given in the Vedas suite those of Jesus in the Bible, that’s why I had that doubt. Then he told me “no, it can’t be, because it happened somewhere in Jerusalem or so, not here”. Again I told him, “it need not be here; the mention is only earth, between man and God, so it can be anywhere”. Now that scholar scolded me, “you fool, don’t make such foolish arguments with me; this is a religious matter, a godly affair, so you get out!” With all these confusion in my mind I went to that noble Brahmin who advised me to go through the Vedas and asked him, “who is this Prajapati, who is this Son of God?” Then he asked me, “Is it not written in Malayalam, why you don’t understand?” I told him, “I could understand, but I have my own doubts”. My dear brothers and sisters, even though a scholar, a born Brahmin, he told me, “My dear Son, there is nothing to be doubted, the only one sent by God, came to this world, tried to redeem humankind from sin and got sacrificed at the end is nobody else, but Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord!
Then he told me, “Now it’s time; you go through the Bible. You’ll get further truth”. I came back to my house. I had never gone through a Bible before and there was no Bible in my house. I borrowed a Bible from the nearby Christian house and began to read the Bible. When I read some passages from the very first book of Genesis itself, stronger wonders that could find Jesus Christ in the Holy Scriptures of Hinduism began to appear before me in the Bible. Almost all the verses I could read from the Rig Veda appeared just the same in the Holy Bible. The same verses and chapters with the same meanings or verses being the answers to the questions, doubts and prayers in Vedas, Upanishads and even in Bhagavat Gita. When I could come across all the verses, I got confused once again. I went to that Brahmin Guru again and told him, “It’s wonderful!” He told me further, “There’s nothing to be wonderstruck. Every ancient scripture was one and the same; Hindu, Christian and Islam were all categorized later, all man made. The Word of God was one because God is only one”. He asked me, “Do you believe that god is only one?” I told him, “Yes, I do believe that God is only one!” Again he asked me, “If God is only one how the Son of God can be several? It is also one”. The heavenly God is incomprehensible. Nobody can see Him! Unless through the Son nobody can see the heavenly Father and the only Son is Jesus Christ! You may be a Hindu! Christian! Muslim, Parsi! Jain! Buddhist! Taoist! Whichever religion you may belong, it doesn’t matter. You have to accept Jesus Christ! Than only you can attain the heavenly Father’s LOVE!

Namaste! I am a born Hindu but did not really get to know Hinduism (beyond ritualistic bhakti yoga and satsang) until my early 20's. I can feel your deep sense of gratitude. I feel the same gratitude everyday when I think how rich, deep and complete Sanatan Dharma is. I could not agree with you more in everything that you said. I am grateful for the work you are doing. One with a truly scientific mind is a perfect candidate for Vedanta. Advaita vedanta empowers the individual and other religions will fall apart if their followers were to discover. May Bhagavan give you all you need to continue and develop your work. Thank you!

Way of living is Hindu for peace and prosperity. Being a Christian your way of living can be Hindu. Lord, God all are infinite. Ultimately spirituality is an individual affair. Freedom of worship in sanaatan dharma is immense with sacredness. Happiness of living with uniting humanity is sacred dharma. We must recognize the danger of religious exclusivism and no longer seek to promote it. Happiness is most important in life. Love all. Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu. God bless you.
