LYRICS
I am he
As you are he
As you are me
And we are all together
See how they run
Like pigs from a gun
See how they fly
I'm crying
Sitting on a cornflake
Waiting for the van to come
Corporation tee shirt
Stupid bloody Tuesday
Man, you been a naughty boy
You let your face grow long
I am the eggman (Ooh)
They are the eggmen, (Ooh)
I am the walrus
Goo goo g' joob
Mister city p'liceman sitting pretty
Little p'licemen in a row
See how they fly
Like Lucy in the sky
See how they run
I'm crying
I'm crying, I'm crying, I'm crying
Yellow matter custard
Dripping from a dead dog's eye
Crabalocker fishwife pornographic priestess
Boy you been a naughty girl
You let your knickers down
I am the eggman (Ooh)
They are the eggmen (Ooh)
I am the walrus
Goo goo g' joob
Sitting in an English
Garden waiting for the sun
If the sun don't come
You get a tan from standing in the English rain
I am the eggman
They are the eggmen
I am the walrus
Goo goo g' joob g' goo goo g' joob
Expert texpert choking smokers
Don't you think the joker laughs at you?
See how they smile
Like pigs in a sty, see how they snied
I'm crying
Semolina pilchards
Climbing up the Eiffel Tower
Element'ry penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe
I am the eggman (Ooh)
They are the eggmen (Ooh)
I am the walrus
Goo goo g' joob
Goo goo g' joob
G' goo goo g' joob
Goo goo g' joob, goo goo g' goo g' goo goo g' joob joob
Joob joob...
this performance is almost as old as I am the walrus was at the time. crazy.
holy shit thats true
Terrifying
This performance was when the song was about 28 yrs old. Also this is 24 and a half yrs ago now
And it's older than that wat a mad tune
It a class song, shame I missed out on all of this. I am only 16, but Liam’s new songs are great so at least my generation have that
Liam's voice was so pure then ...
The beatles didnt perform it live...
But oasis do...and thats cool!
Pure *SHIT.*

@@philsurtees Then why are you here?
Tony McCarroll was great on drums for them. Great feel and attack, and always moving and rocking out back there. The performance was always elevated by his presence on the kit.
Tony's beat was sublime. Alan White was a tippy tappy fucker who ruined the 'punk oasis' which was legendary.

1:30 Is just gold. When he forget the lyrics proves how experienced he's become
Tonys drumming is so good haha
Lol pretty basic tbf
Yeah I love this drummer
yea idk why he got sacked
@Gael AlPz ‘Themes’? You mean songs?
You illiterate prick.
@@islasim7649 he was doing the basics well but that was about the limit of his abilities. Noel wanted to grow, the next guy Alan White (is that his name?) had more ability. However I think they lost something when Tony left, it had some punk energy that they never got back when he was gone.
I can't believe it ,i was actually there in 94 and i totally missed them and the reason, because the people i went with were total spangles who just wanted to hang round the tent taking mushrooms. With hindsight i should of said right i'm off i'll see you losers in four days when it's time to leave.Oh yeh,one more thing,we went to the cash and carry for supplies just before we left and i said to my mate i have about £120 to spend at the festival, how much you got ?he says £3.£3 for four days at Glastonbury.Well i should of realized it was going to be crap from that moment on.i haven't seen those people for years which i guess is a blessing but they made me miss the mighty Oasis.Enough said.
Quite the textbook detour.
said,,,yo!
There was a lot of that gong on in those days.
pricks
you missed a treat ,no more mushies for you .
Best cover of I am the Walrus hands down. They gave it something else.
1995 Earls court better....
So I was 10 when the Beatles broke up and the these guys weren't even born then, they came at least 20 years later.
I think that playing this song at the end of their show is a great tribute to the Beatles. It's high energy, loud guitars and Liam signs it well. It's such a shame that people put the two in a contest about which was best. Who cares, they're both good and by performing this song Oasis pay their respects to those that came before them. So leave the contest aside and just listen to the music.
Don't think many people put them in contest, there is no contest it'd be like prime Mike Tyson Vs a new born. Reason they get mentioned together is because Oasis quite clearly took so much from the Beatles because they were their heroes.
Noel was born and possibly bonehead.
Would never
It shows that a great song can be covered and still be great. The fact that some people want to argue over which is best proves the point
Like Watchtower - Bob vs Jimi. It's a matter of taste.
@@markkelly3859 Absolutely right
Liam's teeth are perfect ! Not a single filling !
A few years later they have many fillings🤣
Yer kidding right ??
Well he was like 22 at the time so obviously he wouldn’t have any fillings! 🙄
I love how at the end Noel fucks with the knobs on his amp, gently rests down his guitar and then just walks off stage
I like how Liam just sits there while the song goes on on and on and on and...on 😂

1:09 Liam doing the “I’m crying” bit 😮
a rare liam falsetto. he also deliberately cracks his voice 03:00 at which he never does. possibly he was overcome with the spirit of john lennon that day

The drummer is playing great!!! I prefer that Definitely maybe drum sound than the Morning Glory drum sound

Voice of a generation. Impeccable
Tony was the pergect drumer for oasis
No he wasn’t.
You’re also an illiterate prick.
Lol, no.
We were there ❤
Kind of weird when Oasis were a band that hipsters loved. Playing to a bouncing crowd, on a small stage at about 3pm!! Seems so long ago, but I remember it. They were a real trendy/hipster band. Then they went mainstream about 12 months later.
Cj M yeah I went to 3 oasis gigs, 1995 Earl’s Court, 2000 Wembley and 2005 MK Bowl. Shame the crowd changed from music fans in 95 to virtually an England away match in 2005
Everyone loved oasis
They were never hipsters and hipsters didn't exist then
No they weren't. They did the hard yards on the toilet circuit. World apart from flashing a shitty promo clip on Instagram and getting yer mates to come to yer first gig. Glastonbury back then wasn't about hipsters.
Hipsters always exsisted. They just morph and changes names. Hippies was another name. People who think they’re hip when all they do is follow dress codes and attitudes. Nothing “hip” about being a follower.
You can see the whole band is having fun with this one. Even tony.

it's one of the best cover versions ever. They literally got their record deal, because of this song. Labels weren't that interested, until they heard them play this
I dunno ..In Alan McGee's own words in this interview , he says he knew he was going to sign Oasis by the second song the played at King Tut's ( which was Up In The Sky , first song was Bring It On Down .)czcams.com/video/rpozn3nedMs/video.html
Sean u all ways together if I don't see u not like that all ways love u like a bro❤🤠
The best bloody band in the world 🌎....bedsides the Beatles
Back in 90s when there is no fucking phone no taking pic or vid just enjoy fucking GIG
The good old days!
I dig the way the crowd was really into it, right from the start.
Great band cover greatest band's song.
Une grand groupe avec de bonnes références !!!!!!!
Liam vocal so good he do the backup singging too
Epic. Look at the crowd, Oasis have driven people in a change of style and they changed even the attitude during gigs. From here we are changing from "Nirvana crowd" (respect) to something different.
huge Nirvana fan and them and Oasis were the only 90s band I dug. And yes it was very refreshing from all theat doom and gloom shite. He comes these fashionable English boys rocking as hard as anything we did. The English gave us rock n roll back in a much better form. Always had. Stopped after Oasis but so did rock. Last rock star LG.
Sounded just as good the other night at the Co Op 👍👌
Go to 6:00 and 6:26. Guigsy's doing some pretty interesting things on the bass. Wish it was turned up.
Underrated
I was there first and last time at glasto didnt see Oasis didnt know where I was let alone seeing a great rock n roll band 22 to not be again
THAT FALSETTOSSS
Sublime. Especially the second higher one.
In Glasgow 94 was better
Guigsys bass line is great
He always sounds great playing a Fender Jass Bass.
I can't get enough

I am the walrus, n' then I'm gettin' off
The instrumental makes the Oasis version perfect! Gallagher has a better voice too plus sound quality is way better now days.
Better than what the Beatles version? Come on man. They wouldn’t even say that. Lennon’s voice is sublime. Even LG knows that.
fucking good band!! This lenno's master sounds excellent Nice concert!
Christ a real young Liam, I thought it was Jarvis Cocker at first lol
the best
I wish john can see it 🙁
This is better than the version on The Masterplan
Yeah it is

Tomorrow at 0800 Glastonbury opens 2024 they have Cyndia Lauper yippeee for the youngsters , 94 Oasis , say no more.
Tonys drumming on here was better than Alan whites
So much more feel
@tomvallantejr1424 ye ya right mate.
Noel apparently said he couldn't play but he seems quality on here doesn't he and on the first album.
He even had the image for oasis which alan white didn't.
Just mu opinion pal.
No it isn't.
@@giveusanesirbobholness7199 Tony was incredibly basic and Tony's own words 'lazy.' Alan was classically trained and without him, the next album wouldn't be what it is. Alan didn't just know about drums, but about percussion as well: just listen to the subtle tambourine and maraccas that he puts on the tracks.
🙌❤ I love Oasis version
The two greatest rock songs - I am the Walrus and Gimme Shelter.
and MY GENERATION!!!
Hard one but - *"Rock 'n Roll"* Led Zep, *"Kashmir"* Led Zep, *"Stay with Me"* - The Faces - Oh...so fucking many!
You think I am the Walrus is a rock song?...I think it's got more to do with Alice in Wonderland.
Peter Cifuentes The beatles version has more to do with Alice in Wonderland.
Your opinion and not shared by many others
this to me, is another example of the fact that Alan is an awesome drummer; but he never nails the ragged feel of Walrus, and Columbia.
Yeah Alan could actually play them.
Tony playing his heart out here!! I thought he was a great drummer😕
3:25 good shit
No chance that Noel would be up for that.

Tony Carroll wasn't too bad after all
@lee turton He was very solid. It being youtube I am duty bound to make some sort of Lars Ulrich joke...I'll get back to you.
It’s a simple beat and plays really the same beat on everything. I like him tho. He was punky and it fit, he just didn’t have the chops for more intricate stuff. Like the brushes on wonderwall. He couldn’t do that proper.
Sounds like I am hearing this of The Masterplan

I like all four psychedelic songs: I am the Walrus, Lucy in the sky with diamonds, Hotel California by the Eagles, and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. They are all messages from God. I know what they all mean.
Reggie love M8 but we seen them lol first
Wow Noel with a '59 Les Paul?
It could be the one that Johnny Marr gave him which he promptly smashed over the head of some guy who tried to fight Liam on stage
Actually it’s a 1960 given to him by Johnny Marr and it used to belong to Pete Townshend. It was later smashed/broken by Noel after someone ran up onstage.
