Hi, Andrew! Sorry for blowing up your notifications. This is the last of The Kelley’s Outdoor channel that I have left to watch. Now I must learn to be patient and wait. See you Sunday night. You give excellent equipment demonstrations.
Thank you for making this video! I've been eyeing that mower and a cabbed tractor to match it. I'm so glad that in the beginning you address the HP requirements, that helps aid in my tractor choice greatly. Also a bit disheartening that it's only an 88" cut. That makes me curious what an 84" mower actually cuts? Have a great day!
The casters bend very easy at the top by the pivot rod where it attaches , then the cast wheel hits the deck and you dig in the ground with the whee bending the caster forks even more
I have yet to have that problem. They redesigned this mower a few years ago, I believe addressing some of those problems. Hopefully I get good life out of it.
Bought mine about 4 yrs ago before the remodel, I mow about 8 acs here. This Friday I spun a spindle bearing for the first time, going to replace them all and keep the other four as spares. My deck is starting to develop holes in it, Bahia is rough on it. All in all been a good piece of equipment
It's difficult to explain over the internet. You have to losen the gear box plate and slide the gear box towards the tractor. There is a bolt below the pto shaft to do that. This takes tension off of the belts.
If you mow more regularly would you be pleased with a finish cut quality around your house? I have 4 acres of grass. Just bought a tractor for my business but hate to also buy a zero turn if a rear finish mower would cut well enough for nice yard regularly.
Yes if you mow often you can expect a decent cut. There are many different types of finish mowers on the market, some will leave a better cut than others.
I have the same mower, run it behind a 40 horse Mahindra and it cuts well. Problem I have with Caroni is getting parts. I bought my mower in 2016, 3 years later I cant get parts for it. I purchased mine from Agri Supply and they cant get me the right parts for this mower. I'm getting ready to scrap my Caroni then get a Woods or something from a reliable manufacturer and supplier.
I hate to hear that, I've had good luck with my mower and my local agri supply. What parts are wearing out on yours? I've bought a few wearable parts and luckily my store has had everything in stock. One time they didn't and shipped it to me quickly for free.
Wherls and wherl forks. 3 out of 5 times they sent me parts for the wrong mower. I'm sick of them easting my time. They told me carini changed the design and parts for my 2016 are not available any more. I'm taking it to the agricultural supply store and dumping it st their front door on Saturday.
@@TKOutdoors The arms that hold the forks are cheap stamped steel. There is a strap welded to the inside bottom but its only spot welded. I had to pay a welder to reinforce the arms. I have a bent wheel fork now and they re not available so my mower is basically worthless now.
I started a new channel years ago for our homestead. A lot of tractor, mower and equipment videos on that channel. czcams.com/video/EjxFILYKN5s/video.html
You have to unbolt the back of the bracket that the gearbox is mounted to, then you can lift that plate up allowing for just enough clearance to pull off the belt from around the pully.
Never ran one, however I have friends that own them. They are amazing pieces of equipment and don't require as much Hp as you would think. I would own one in a heartbeat, however they are just way out of my price range. I go through a lot of tight areas and small gates so that would be the other draw back for me. Check out my other channel where I do tractor videos and I'll be soon uploading a comparison video I did between, flail, rotary and finish mowers. czcams.com/video/0owTjr0s1Jk/video.html
Great video! Thanks for the cutting measurement demo, it swayed my buying decision.
Thank you for showing us how a finish mower works

having a difficult time changing the belts. They appear too small, but was reassured they are not. How do I get them on?

@@nick22611 mine is newer so I hope I'm OK. I've heard of other people mention the wheel forks.

You never did a comp video with the flail mower did you?

Amazing how many finishing mower are Woods copycats
I have 1 of those, how do you change the belt ? I push fully the the gear thing and I can't put back the belt

@@TKOutdoors thanks
Did you installed the grease hose? I just brought one don’t have those
I bought this slightly used, thos were probably added by the previous owner
I’m just curious what is your opinion on a flex wing finish mower?

Teff nine bahaya ? Do I have that right
It's tiff 9 bahia, but yes that's the style I planted. Very tough, grows fast, handles heavy grazing and requires very little attention.
How is it holding up a year later?
I've had it a couple of years now, still running great! I've changed one wheel due to a bad bearing and the occasional belts. Very minor maintenance
Check out my other channel The Kelley's Country Life. I have a lot of videos on that channel of me running the mower
I been researching them here lately I can't decide between a finish or a flail.
Watch this video where I discus both. I own each of them and they have their pros and cons. czcams.com/video/AWN1ocWef6Q/video.html
Doesn't work 😕
