I use compare and contrast (analyse, evaluate) a lot in my study, which comes in higher learning hierarchy in Bloom’s taxonomy. Basically I reference, relate and connect new information to the previously learnt information (already encoded in long term memory). I feel that’s an excellent encoding technique, although time consuming, but the longer retention is just outstanding. Where does it fit here?
