    Wow, it looks awesome. No doubt technically correctly graded but from an exposure point of view it looks quite challenging.

    Another cracking video mate, Clogwyn y Person has been on my list for a while! I love your approach info as well because these are details that are sometimes overlooked with descriptions.
    Nice work Daniel!

      Thanks! Yes I always try to show the approach as I know lots of people search for directions/parking etc so it can come handy for them.

      Thanks, this was filmed in early June when it was nice and sunny, can't wait to get back out there.

    Awesome mate, that looks class. Planning on the 3S part of that same route in August so looking forward to it now 😀

    Great vid Danial as always. For me, this route was a disappointment... You never really feel on an 'Arete' and the climbing is bitty and thrutchy which is not my bag. And then there's that walk in!

      I know exactly what you mean, it never quite lives up to the reputation. I've only done it a couple of times, might try the grade 3 start if I go up there again.

    Nice video, have done both of those scrambles a few times. I think the Cyrn is quite serious for a grade1. Some of it loose and no easy escape. Have never thought Clogywn Y Person Arete is a grade2, it is too long, committing and some tough sections on it. It is a fantastic line though!

      Good point. I think the gully start I took is a grade 2 with the rest of the route a 3. Hardest part for me was at 5m16s but the holds were there - czcams.com/video/qmv-hJIMsLA/video.html

    Nice footage. It looks like you took a right-leaning line on the arete, hence your 5:24 moment? I've done the route a couple of times taking an easier left line. Great ridge scramble, either way. Not yet done the approach route, though. One for the future 👍

      Yes, quite fun getting up that steep section! I missed it the first time I went on this scramble so must have drifted left back then. Tbh, that was he best bit of the route imo.

    Need travel sickness tablets watching this due to your head movement. You need to mount the camera on a pole on your pack so it moves a lot less. Otherwise, good vid in excellent dry conditions.

      Top of my shopping list is the Insta360 x4, I think it would be great on commiting routes like this where it's not easy to go back down and retrieve a stationary camera.

    Is Bryant’s gulley behind you on this one across the road where you started? I think this is the next scramble I fancy.

    • @thebaldscrambler
      @thebaldscrambler  Před rokem

      Yes; both Bryants Gully and Esgair Felen Direct scrambling routes are on the other side of the road. Bryants Gully is above the huge, flat slab, visible on satelite via Google Maps - goo.gl/maps/uRwWpCbPnNaP62xo6
