Bell Atlantic IQ Services ad from 1990

Bell Atlantic came into existence in 1984 through the combination of C&P Telephone and other local telephone companies in the Mid-Atlantic area. Bell Atlantic acquired NYNEX (serving New England and most of New York state) in 1997, keeping the Bell Atlantic name. Then, Bell Atlantic acquired GTE in 2000 and changed its name to Verizon Communications.

But since Caller ID info can be easily "spoofed", now we get "prank calls" from India and the Tel. No. is 000-000-0000.

you can block all calls from a specific area code or an entire telephone number with almost all types of landline telephones though
