Marvi is a folklore heroine in Sindh's folklore. The story revolves around her abduction by Umar, the King of Umerkot, who was captivated by her beauty. Marvi, a shepherdess, resists Umar's advances and remains loyal to her love, Uda, a fellow shepherd. Despite being held captive in Umerkot's palace, Marvi stays steadfast in her devotion to Uda. Through her wit and courage, she eventually outwits Umar and returns to her homeland to reunite with Uda, demonstrating the power of love and loyalty over coercion and power.
The song is about her return back to her people and village.
The language is Sindhi and the region is Tharparker, Pakistan.

P.S. India is named after the river Sindhu (which became Hindu in Persian and Indus in Greek), the same goes for the region's name Sindh and their language Sindhi. Inhabitants of the Sindhi/Rajasthani Thar belt in India and Pakistan might just be the oldest inhabitants or oldest surviving cultural practices in the world. They have textile, pottery and traditions preceding the advent of half of the world's religions and cultures, i.e. Indus Valley and whatever its remnants that exist. I may be wrong but there is a growing research around this.

When it was named in it's constitution, there was discontent in Delhi for calling it India instead of Bharat, because the Indus had nothing to do with the newly formed nation. Even Jinnah called out Nehru for choosing the name. The term Pakistan had already been coined by Chaudary Rehmat Ali, but if it hadn't then it is quite possible that the land today that is called Pakistan, could have been named India.
